love walgreens great and easy ways to shop and use my coupons.. thanks for the heads up for the “new” coupon people kelly your awesome..
Walgreens in our area is always happy to help with coupons too…. love it
My local Walgreens will not allow me to use a manufacturer’s coupon with an item that is supposed to have a register reward. I have been told by the manager that if I use a manufacturer’s, the register reward will not print. Any advice?
I’ve recently had two instances at Walgreens where my RR did not print and I had to get an explanation from the manager. First, there was a $5 coupon wyb2 in the paper for Sudafed/Tylenol products and also a $5 RR wyb 2. I bought two, used the coupon, and my RR didn’t print. I regularly use coupons on items with RR but the manager told me that in this particular instance, they wouldn’t honor both. I felt as if I should have been notified beforehand because there was no way for me to know that this situation was any different than any previous times I’d used a Q on a RR item. Second, I bought an item that had a $3 RR with a RR I had from a couple weeks earlier and again, my $3 RR didn’t print. The cashier told me that I couldn’t use RR to purchase another item with RR. I explained to her that I had done it many times in the past and didn’t see what was different. Again, I spoke to a manager and he explained that since the manufacturer that provided my previous RR was Schick and I was buying another Schick product (even though it was a completely different product – just made by the parent company Schick!) with that RR, then Schick would not print my RR for the item I had just purchased. This was the first I’d ever heard of this policy, but evidently manufacturers are getting much more strict about rolling RRs.
Question about combining in-ad walgreens coupons with manufacturer coupons… can this be done? For example, there was a walgreens coupon for dawn dish detergent for .99 in this weeks paper plus I have a dawn detergent manufacturer coupon… can I use the two together? My local walgreens is not very friendly and often refuses to take many coupons, so I would just like to be a bit more knowledge about the company’s coupon policy.
Thanks!!
Where/How do you get a Walgreen’s coupon book?
In the mail, in the store?
Do I have to be a member of the rewards program to get book?
Hey There! I was just reading through this tutorial as I had some issues last night at my hometown Walgreens which I have never had before. I had several different transactions and received some fabulous RR’s but I wasn’t aware you could not purchase the same item the RR was issued for with that particular RR. I was even more confused when the manager explained to me that it I have a Buy 2 get $0.40 off coupon that those two items now only count as one… Needless to say I spent a lot of time in discussion with the manager but he told me everything you have noted above. SO A BIG THANK YOU FOR THE HELPFUL HINTS!! Luckily my cashier is a couponer herself and we figured out a way around the system. I ended up spending $128 and saving over $125 when my trips to Walgreens and CVS were completed!! I bought 5 of the Lysol Dispenser Kits for $10 after Manfu Q and the RR’s!

Will Walgreens accept competitors coupons? i.e. Target?
No Walgreens do not accept competitors coupons. 🙂
Wow! This stuff is complicated! No wonder more people don’t do it. :-/ I am determined to conquer the confusion, however, and save my family budget!.
