My Kroger often has organic yogurt marked down, as well as eggs and sometimes milk. I’ve also gotten cheap organic herbs and tofu on markdown. Half the stuff in our fridge has those little orange stickers on it!
crazy question: can you freeze the spinach for smoothies? i’m not sure we’d use it fast enough to be worth it. thanks!
Yes, you can freeze spinach and it works great. I subscribe to Greenlite bytes and she had a tip that when your spinach starts to go bad, throw it in a freezer bag pop it in the freezer and it works great! You can even crunch it up in the bag while it is in the freezer and put it in smoothies, eggs, casseroles, etc.
i always check the markdowns for salad mixes and such and 98% of the time they are bad, brown juices covering the leaves. They don’t mark them down for no reason. They might still be good the day the put them on sale, but I wasn’t lucky to find anything good in that section
