Thanks….I flash freeze stuff and then use my vacuum saver after it’s frozen solid. I hadn’t thought about oranges and squash, though, so appreciate the tips!! Also, hadn’t thought about getting pans at the thrift store!
I’d love to know how you do the butternut squash! It’s so hard to cut!!
Great tips! Blessed w/the pretty genes too I see 🙂
Do you rinse off the mushrooms before you flash freeze them?
TIA,
Sonja
This was a great explanation of how to freeze produce. I flash freeze as well, but I never knew you could do oranges. Do you just peel and section them?
Yep, you can peel and freeze and then I use them in smoothies! They are so
good with Vanilla Whey Protein Poweder, OJ and Milk. Like an Orange Julius.
Thank you so much for posting this! This is all so new to me.
You have been a blessing to my family!
You’re welcome! Glad you’ve been able to benefit from this information.
Can you tell me what all fruits and vegetables you can freeze and which you can’t and how long they will last in the freezer? And when you said you did your peppers the same way do you mean like jalapeno peppers and do you leave seeds in or remove before u freeze them?
Thanks a lot! I always wondered how to do this. You rock sister!
Do you have to wash the veges/fruits first before freezing? I have heard that you shouldn’t watch strawberries first but you cut yours up before freezing. just wondering.
I wash all fruits and vege before cutting them up. if you freeze blueberries, do not. They have a natural powder coating that keeps them from sticking together.
When flash freezing potatoes do you cook them first?
just a tip – you can use a sturdy piece of flat cardboard (covered in wax paper) to use in place of a cookie sheet.
Thank you so much for this video on flash freezing and the tips on some of the other foods you can flash freeze. Have a great day.
Do you know what kind of expiration date fruits and vegetables have after flash freezing them?
Natalie, it depends on what and how you are using the item. For instance, as long as the frost stays off of blueberries, they are great a year later (but mine never last that long!), especially in smoothies. But usually 6 months is my max on produce in the freezer.
As a Mom of three I really need to learn to cook! I’ll be stopping back by to learn more! Thanks for explaining flash freezing! 🙂 Do you have an extra freezer? How do you have room in your freezer?
~ Ali
Ali – Yes, I do have an extra full-size freezer in my garage. It really comes in handy for saving on groceries!
My husband and I just purchased a freezer because we had been missing out on so many great deals. And I recently found your blog and its is so full of valuable information. Thank you!

mode in this game, with a lame game that had a shortage
of characters and awkward control like this doesn’t even
worth playing a good one on one vs. These packs usually consist of different outfits for your character to wear.
