So many stores don’t take internet coupons any longer. Have you found certain stores that still take them? Or do I just need to try each store and find out for myself?=)

When organizing your coupon files, do you have a category for specific store coupons (Target, Kroger, Publix, etc.) or strictly go by grocery item?

Reply

5 Kelly March 20, 2009 at 2:01 pm

I do for Publix, but I try to just keep all store coupons in one place and use them at Publix – since they take most competitor coupons.

Kelly,
Just wanted to let you know I had my inaugural shopping trip after your Grocery Workshop and saved 36% off my bill. My big “win” was yogurt. Publix had them BOGOF and I paired it with a manufacturer’s coupon. I purchased four packages and only paid $2 instead of $10. What a high! I’m looking forward to attending your Ultimate Coupon Workshop on the 31st so I can really learn how to work the system, since you only briefly mentioned couponing in the grocery class. Thank you for these wonderful workshops and all you do!

FYI for your Spring Hill readers . . . Spring Hill Publix WILL take Target food coupons since the Target in town is a “Super” store and has a full grocery store inside!

Just saw you this morning on FOX 17 news. You are just what I need to get my spending back on tract. Looking forward to the April 9th and 21st seminars so I can figure out how this works….

How often do online coupons “reset” from a manufacturer’s website?

Reply

10 Kelly April 13, 2009 at 7:14 pm

Some do and some don’t , there is not time frame, they all differ.

How do blinkies count when stacking coupons – are they a manufacturers coupon or a store coupon?

Reply

12 Kelly April 18, 2009 at 9:36 pm

They are a manufacturers coupon.

Howdy! I have taken both of your classes and took notes so that I could remember all that you said. But, i can;t read my writing on one subject and need to ask you again. Hope you don;t mind repeating yourself for the umpteenth time… I remember you touching briefly on the “Shortcuts” coupons that I can load to my Kroger card. Did you say that they act as a 3rd coupon to go with the ones I am stacking? i.e. Will they take my “one Store Q” and “one Manufacturers Q” and then also credit me for the loaded Q on my kroger card for that item? thanks for clearing this up,Teresa

14 Kelly May 6, 2009 at 3:43 pm

Teresa,
My understanding is that you can use paper coupons with loadable coupons. I have heard this might change in the future, but for right now

At your class you said you can back-up your browser and print two coupons. Is this per printer OR per computer? We are about to to get a third computer, but use a wireless modem and tie it into an existing printer. I’m just wondering if this additional computer means I will be able to get two more coupons for a total of six?

Reply

16 Kelly May 9, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Sadie,
It is dependent on your computer, not your printer. So, you should be able to print 2 coupons from each computer!

I like to buy fresh organic fruits, veggies, and meats, but this is so expensive. If I have a coupon for a certain fruit or veggie, can I use it for organic or does it have to specify organic?

Reply

18 Kelly May 26, 2009 at 3:22 pm

Lucy, You would just need to check with your store, but I am sure it is for any produce item.

There’s absolutely no reason not to use coupons. I’ve become very fond of them, especially lately with prices in the grocery skyrocketing. Why wouldn’t you use coupons, its like free money!

My Kroger card is loaded with ecoupons from P&G, Cellfire, and Shortcuts. Huggies and Lucky Charms are on two of the sites and my card. Do you know if both will be deducted?
Thanks again for all you do!

Do you know if Vons/Safeway loads coupons onto their club cards or Albertsons? We do not have a Kroger in CA. I have never even heard of a store called Publix. I also am finding that several stores will no longer accept computer printed coupons.

I was just looking at the Vons paper and saw in the corner a little ad that says to go to Vons.com/coupons to load hundreds of coupons to your VonsClub Card. Yay!!! Thank you Kelly, I wouldn’t have even thought to look for that. I heard you on Air 1 today.

What is the best way to get coupons? Newspaper subscription? Purchase papers individually? I don’t want to spend money that I could be saving trying to get the coupons.

Reply

27 Kelly July 26, 2009 at 8:39 pm

I would recommend getting the paper each Sunday at a location that discounts the papers, our are Walgreens and The Dollar Tree (middle TN). Another avenue to get FREE coupon inserts is at the recycle bin. or, ask a neighbor or family member to give you theirs.

Kelly,
Thank you for all of the time and energy you put into your site and for all of the wonderful information you provide.
I bought 5 papers today at Walgreen’s (.99 cents on Sunday, YEAH!!!!!). Anyway, not one of them had a Kellogg’s flyer. Just wondering if you or anyone else ran into this (possibly regional?)or if maybe the person prepping the papers at this particular Walgreens forgot to put them in the paper.
Thanks again,
Robin

I have the same question as Kelly! I’m trying to figure out the Walgreen’s deal that Deal Seeking Mom talks about (moneymaker), but looked through all 4 inserts from my 5 Sun. papers I picked up at Walgreens for $5 Sunday after church and could not find these coupons. Are there printables for the same things?

Thanks for all you do for us!

p.s. Does Franklin Publix take Target printables? Because, although I LOVE the Spring Hill Publix, they do not take the Walgreens $5 off $25 or the H.G. Hills $5 off coupon….

I am wondering if the loadable coupons from cell fire and p&g can be doubled. My last trip to kroger was my first time using it and when I got home I realized that they didn’t double them. I wasn’t sure if I just needed to let the cashier know that they were even on there.

Reply

31 Kelly August 9, 2009 at 8:39 pm

Patsy, loadable coupons do NOT double.

Here’s a tip for collecting extra Sunday coupon inserts. Instead of paying money for extra newspapers, I go to my local Starbucks in the early afternoon on Sundays, buy myself a drink, and get all of the coupon inserts from the newspaper recycling bin.

Kelly – I was on a site one time that had an explanation on how to read the coupon bar code to see what the coupon would really allow you to use it for instead of just relying on the text. For example, the text of the coupon might say ‘$0.50 of Dawn Plus’, but the bar code would apply to any ‘Dawn’ product.

The site also listed all of the codes from the last 2 digits of the coupon bar code and what they represent, for example ’50′ represents $0.50 off one, while ’24′ is $0.50 off two.
Do you have a link to a site that gives this information?

I was wondering if I have two coupons for a product that I am buying, do you know if the stores will take both coupons for one item?

Reply

35 Kelly August 16, 2009 at 7:01 am

Susan,
The only time you can use two coupons on one product is if one is a manufacturer coupon and one is a store coupon.

When using store coupons, can you explain the difference between “redeem only at” and “redeemable”. Thanks!

Reply

37 Kelly September 1, 2009 at 10:18 am

Cassidy, the most important wording is if it says “Manufacturer coupon”. Even the coupons that say “redeem only at” are taken by stores that take competitors coupons, if it is a “store coupon”. Many times these coupons are manufacturer coupons and not store coupons, which means they are redeemable anywhere.

Have you been able to successfully use the Soft Coin loadable coupons at Kroger? When I registered at this site, it took my Kroger card #, but then it said there were no participating stores in my area. Thoughts? Thanks for all you do!!!

Hello! If I have one paper coupon for a particular item and I also have a “loaded” coupon onto my Kroger card for that same item, which one will Kroger use? I know that paper coupons double up to .60 and loadable coupons don’t, so obviously I would want to use the paper one if it were a better deal. How does that work?

I don’t run into a lot of ” store ” coupons. I found some on the Target Genertor. Where can you find most of these?

Also, any information on when the next store will be doing triple coupons?

I am sure you are familiar with the PG&eSaver link on the Kroger website where you can download coupons right on to your Kroger card. If I load a coupon from that site and I have a paper coupon, can I use both or is that loaded coupon considered the same as a paper coupon?

Is Publix starting to change their policy that allows two coupons on a BOGO deal? I went to the U-scan and tried to use two printable ones at the Franklin store. They wouldn’t scan for me. Then the cashier read them and said they could only accept one per “transaction,” not per product. She said every store can have different policies. She honored them “this time” anyway. I usually shop at the Spring Hill store and this has not been a problem. Could it have been the U-scanner, the printiable issue, or just that store in particular?

I have a link for an excellent site for pet owners. It’s http://www.dogtoys.com. They have great prices on dog treats and offer 5 dollar shipping no matter how large your order if you sign up for monthly delivery. You can change your order or cancel if you need to at any time. They are a small company and I’ve done the comparison shopping and they are usually about 10-15% cheaper than the stores on everything.

I tried to print the coupon for Q-Tips from Red Plum but a pop-up states that I have already reached my limit and I haven’t even printed one. I then send the coupon to a friend just to see if it was working and the friend called to tell me that they couldn’t print the coupon for the same reason. What gives?

Sunday coupon inserts for July 4, 2010 included an $80 P&G insert. This came with the Charlotte Observer (NC.)
