One of my favorite ways to give is with a Mother’s Day gift that is personalized just for her. However, I find that personalized Mother’s Day gifts or any for that matter, can get quite pricey. Take a look at these ideas to turn off-the-rack gifts into just-for-her Mother’s Day gifts, personalized with a little creativity.
Chances are your children don’t call your mom or your mother-in-law “Grandma.” She might be Nana, Nonna, Mimi, Grams, or Gammy. Hallmark doesn’t seem to understand this, LOL, so cards don’t come with a “fill in the blank.” Personalize your cards by making them yourself! There are lots of free printable cards available online, or you can do it yourself using pretty paper and your printer. Here’s one of many cheap Mother’s Day gift ideas: Write a letter to your mom. I’ve got suggestions for cute card ideas HERE.
Do you know what colors your mom likes? What her style is? If you’re making a craft for Mom this year, be sure it is about what she likes–even if it’s not your personal taste. That means her colors, her preferences, and her unique sense of fashion. I think that Mother’s Day is the perfect time to show her you really know her and notice what she likes!
One of my absolute favorite Mothers Day Gifts, personalized just for her, was a stepping stone we made from a Stepping Stone kit, like this one on Amazon. We made ours with the kids’ hands and footprints on it. Be sure to include the date and occasion, my mother-n-law still has hers and it is over 5 years old!

Bibles/Gift books – If a book is leather-bound or hard cover, you may want to engrave it with your mom’s name. Check to see if the store will engrave the Bible or gift book FREE of charge. Most stores that offer this service will do it for free if you have purchased the Bible/book there. If you choose to order a leather-bound Bible from Amazon or another online retailer, check with your local bookstore. They will usually engrave it for a nominal fee.
Jewelry and Keepsakes – I love the beautiful items that Things Remembered has available. You can personalize a necklace, frame, throw, and so much more inexpensively. Also, be sure to take a look at another of my favorite sites, DaySpring. They have a huge clearance section with some great options for gifts.
