Chocolate Gravy and Biscuits
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tablespoons dutch cocoa powder
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup water
- 4 tablespoons butter, cubed
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 8 ounces heavy whipping cream
- 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Once combined, add milk and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly until thick and bubbly, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Take off the heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
- Serve immediately while hot.
- Combine cream and flour in a large bowl.
- Roll out and cut biscuits with a round cutter.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter.
- Serve biscuits open-faced, topped with butter, and drizzled with chocolate gravy.
