Looking for a store Faithful Provisions doesn’t cover?
… Head on over to BeCentsable’s Grocery Gathering.
There was a Cascadian Farms coupon booklet on the cereal a few weeks ago and in it is a $.75/1 coupon for the Cascadian farm Granola Bars use it during triples makes the bars $.24
What are your thoughts on the Kroger Mix and Match, buy 10 items and get $5 off at the counter? I have found with these deals, even with coupons, because you have to buy other items to get the discount on the item you really want, it is better to buy the generic. Personally, this deal frustrates me. Just wanted to see if you found a benefit. The only benefit I have gotten is if I buy 10 of the things I want, i.e. buy 10 – 2L Dr. Peppers and get them for $.78 each. Thanks for all you do!
I don’t see Cheerios or Gogurt in your ad, but yet you have it listed as on sale and part of the mix & match. Did you go by the store and see that these were on sale? I often trust your research and make my shopping list from it.
I used to be a faithful Kroger shopper, if anything, just for the gas discount. I’ve recently discovered that as Jill says the deals really just aren’t there. I did the Harris Teeter triple (spent total OOP $100 for $460 worth of groceries with HT discounts and coupons) and found that most of the prices on brand name products were a better deal than what Kroger was advertising during the “mega deal” event. I now only shop Kroger for my weekly fresh items and no longer my stock up deals due to the convenience of the store. I will say that by far the customer service and prices, after coupons, are a much better deal at Harris Teeter than Kroger.
I’m so excited! My husband heard about your website on Air1, and I just came back from my first trip to Kroger. I got $69.43 worth of groceries for $26.78 OOP!!! Thanks for explaining how to use coupons effectively, for linking to all the ecoupons and making everything easy to understand. I had always just bought generic because I thought it was the cheapest way to go. Boy was I wrong! Thanks & many blessings to you!
BTW, there is no Harris Teeter or Publix in my area, but so far I’m pleased with Kroger.
I dont have a Harris Teeter or Publix within a 30 min drive of me either but it looks like they have extremely good deals but still not worth a 45 min drive to Nashville. The Kroger Mega 10 event is great if it is items you would normally buy anyway. I have saved quite a bit of money on these sales as they do have them frequently. Some things like the cereal and cookie mix for less than $1 each is much cheaper than the generic would be so I stock up on the items that I would normally buy and that I have coupons for and ignore the stuff that I wouldnt buy anyway. I bought 30 items off this sale for just under $30 OOP on these items so less than $1 per item average, I consider that a pretty good deal. I guess it is a matter of perspective and what you have in your area to compare it to.
If you didn’t buy the Chex Mix bars, do. I used a 75 cent coupon and I had one, maybe two using ecoupons. For my one box of bars it cost a 14 cents. UNBELIEVABLE:) and they’re delicious
