North Texas is no where near Harris Teeter, so I won’t be able to get this amazing deal, but I wonder if any of the Kroger stores around here will be doing this anytime soon. Would you happen to know of anyone tracking deals in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? Thank you-I appreciate your blog!

Every Kroger I called said a limit of 20 coupons…

Don’t forget to load your cellfire and shortcuts e-coupons for the Chex Mix, and there’s also one for the Pillsbury pie crusts.
I found a couple of good deals today, not included in the mega event (I’m sure there are many more!)
Healthy Life 100% Whole Wheat bread: ($.50/1, SS 10/4). Sale price was $1.79; with tripled coupon, it was $.29!
Perdue Short Cuts Carved Chicken Breast ($.75/1, RP 10/4). Sale price was $2.50 per 6 oz pkg. With tripled coupon, it was $.25! Pretty good deal.
I’ve been taking advantage of the mega/triple-coupon combined event. Yesterday, I went and spent $45, saved $91. Today, I spent $14, and saved $29. Fun!

Harris teeter limits you to 20 coupons, does kroger have a limit?

  5. robin November 5, 2009 at 9:21 pm

    Hi,
thanks so much for all that you do to help us find the great deals that are available. Just finished shopping at Kroger yesterday. Thought your readers would like to know that the computers at Kroger are programmed to not give overages on the triples. Stacking, however, does allow for some overages. At least this has been my experience at the Kroger I shop at. Also wanted to let brecca know that yes there is a 20 coupon limit but you can do multiple transactions of twenty tripled coupons.
Thanks again for all you do. I discovered your recipes yesterday and look forward to trying some of them.

I noticed that I did not get overage from the triples at kroger, but they took off all the stacked coupons. There is a 55cents off 2 gogurts coupon on the boxes. This is a mega item as well. Great deal. Target booklet has an additional coupon for Ore Ida Potatoes as well as the one from SS. Mom’s best Naturals cereal was free with IP and shortcuts.

Kelly, does raincheck mean you can get the triples/mega deal later as well when they re-stock? They were out of Chex, surf and All- I was so bummed!

Shane – Yes! They will give you the triples, not sure about mega, but they staple the coupons to it!!

    Clarification on the overage:
During the Mega Event, after the coupon triples (up to the value of the item – no overage), the mega comes off of THAT. So if your item is free after coupon, then the mega comes off, you make $.50 for the item.

    Using the Wishbown example:
Wishbone Salad Dressing – $1.99 (price BEFORE Mega Event discount – this is the price it will ring up for at the register)
-$.75/1. (When tripled this will be -$2.25 off)
Subtotal: FREE (it doesn’t give you overage)
Final Price: -$.50 After Mega Event discount is taken off (at end of transaction)

    Hope that helps!

Is Kroger still tripling coupons that say “do not double or triple” or have they started overriding them?

  11. Gail November 6, 2009 at 4:02 am

Please give addresses of Kroger stores which give the triple coupon deal.

You could also mention Senior Discount Day for seniors — this could put several items in the FREE column.

Gail, its usually when a Harris Teeter and Kroger are in close proximity. Harris Teeter triples regularly and Kroger will triple to keep up the competition if they are in the same area. Its best to just call your local store.

  13. sharon November 6, 2009 at 4:13 pm

My Kroger paid me the overage on two transactions. This was the Kroger in Franklin, TN on Columbia. Last triples the Kroger in Brentwood paid me overage also. I actually got cash back on all 3 transactions!

  14. sharon November 6, 2009 at 4:16 pm

Just some items I got free or next to free for others to check on. Reynolds Parchment paper, Chef Boyardee microwave bowls, Suave Lotion-about 50 cents, Suave deo-free, Peppridge Farm frozen breads-free, Don’t forget 2L of coke products are 79cents (with total of 10 Mega items0 and then you can use them as filler items for the Mega Event if you need another item that maybe is out of stock, these are great for holiday parties.

Does the Kroger in Spring Hill triple coupons?

  16. Candice November 7, 2009 at 11:56 am

On the $.50 coupon for ground beef, it downloads as a .pdf document. Can you print multiple copies? Or just one?
