Mission Statement
Founded on Luke 12:24, Faithful Provisions is dedicated to showing individuals and families how to save money by encouraging, equipping and empowering good stewardship.
My Story
My name is Kelly, and I am wife to an amazing husband and mommy to a daughter (6) and a son (3). I love to cook, shop for amazing deals, and share what I do with others. God has faithfully provided for our family, allowing me to stay home and raise our children and make the most of our income. I love to teach and encourage others who want to do the same!
The following verses in Luke were my inspiration for the name of this blog!
“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! ” – Luke 12:22-24
The first question I always get when I meet someone or teach a class is…
“How did you start doing this?”
So, here is my story…
About six years ago, after our first child was born, I had a great job working for a Fortune 500 company. When our daughter was born, I immediately felt God tugging at my heart to walk out in faith and leave my great-paying job. This was not an easy decision. I was bringing home half of our income, and without it, and we were barely going to get by each month. As excited as I was to stay home, I really dreaded the financial impact on our lives…especially knowing that over 50% of marriages end in divorce due to financial troubles.
So, after returning to work for two months, I gave my two-week notice. From that day on, I was able to clearly see God’s hand in our finances and His deep care for us in our day-to-day lives. When we did our first budget, we were floored at how much money we were actually throwing away each month on non-essentials! It is amazing what you can live on, versus what you THINK you have to have to live on.
I was first introduced to this way of saving by my dear friend Bekah. She had always shopped this way; her mom had taught her to use coupons and shop sales. So, one night in January, she had my younger sister and me over and taught us this new way of shopping. It was like a light bulb went on, and that was the beginning!
Over the next few months I got better and better at it, and after one year, I had reduced our grocery and eating-out budget from $1,100/month to about $250/month! As I continued to save, I had friends (and friends of friends!) asking me about how I did it. I taught my first class in my friend Christina’s home, with about 30 women attending. From there, we began to teach a class monthly in her home, and it was always packed; we had to start turning people away for the next month’s class.
From there, I started an email list, reaching about 200 people who wanted to receive frequent updates on deals and coupon matchups. After a couple of years, I decided (after much urging from my awesome hubby!) that I needed to learn how to make a living off of what I could do. The result was my blog, Faithful Provisions, and from there, I began to seek speaking opportunities.
The road has not always been smooth. Like many, we had to deal with job loss and making ends meet. I wouldn’t be where I am today without believing in God’s Word and that He will faithfully provide for those who believe in His Son Jesus. Through our faith in Him, we have been abundantly blessed and shown a way of life we didn’t know existed. My hope is that in seeing our journey, you will be encouraged to step out in an area that God is calling you too… to trust Him!
God Bless!
Kelly
Below are the lyrics to a song that has inspired me in this journey with Faithful Provisions.
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Similar journey, and fortunately same city! Seeking similar success and looking forward to honoring the Creator with my own story. Can’t wait to meet you and other moms like us. (Matt 7:8)
my friend Michalle Sessions told me about you – so i had to come check out your site. Great story!
I think she said you guys go to Fellowship too? maybe we’ll see you around sometime! – dave & jessica lewis
Kelly ~ love your blog, came across your site from Meredith’s Like Merchant Ships. As a mom of young adults, I’m delighted to see young Christian women taking the bold step of making a difference in the world for Christ.

I am a beginner in the coupon world and would love to learn how to save more money for Matthew and I. Let me know if you guys have a class coming up on the weekends……I would love to come and learn!
Hi Kelly, A friend of mine sent me your website. I am a stay-at-home mom living in Orlando. Is there anyway that you could do a class online? I would love to learn your tricks of what you do. Thanks for your information..Ginny
Stay tuned, I am working on doing some online podcasts, just need a little time. If you check back here frequently, I’ll post about it. Thanks so much for reading!
Kelly, you are truly blessed. Thank you for your talents! And to all you ladies out there that are thinking about trying her methods they do work! Just shopping the sales saves my family about $75 a week! God Bless! Jacqueline
Kelly, I just found your site, and cannot wait to go back through your posts. After my daughter was born, I returned to work for a month, but made the difficult decision to stay home (difficult in only a financial sense). Money is tight, but we are learning to budget more wisely. Thank you for this wonderful blog resource and God Bless! Cee
Great website looking forward to attending a workshop. I am trying to become coupon wise. Had to make the difficult decision to stay home due to health reasons. Since this cuts our income in half I am trying to save where I can. Even though I do not have children and it is just my husband and me, using coupons, meal planning and cooking at home can make up the difference in income, plus be healthier for us. Thank you and God Bless!
Hey Kelly! It’s Natalie Albert – David talked to Bradford last week, and David let me know about your blog. I googled you and found it… I think it is so great that you are sharing all this great info! Can’t wait to check back in often! Blessings to you!
I can’t remember the path that brought me to your site, but I am grateful for being led here. You sound like a wonderful mom and person and I can’t wait to get to know you better. I am a full-time working mother of five. I used to homeschool our kids until we decided the Lord really wanted us to get out of debt. So DH works two jobs and I work one and we will have all our consumer debt paid off at the end of 2009. We only have left the house and the student loans. We did well getting to where we are, almost done with the debt, until the grocery prices started soaring. So I started hunting for couponing and bargain-shopping help again to feed our large family. I’m so excited to have found a site where relying on the Lord is key! Our family certainly relies on Him, so I am thrilled to have made this connection! Good for you for what you are doing!
Could I be on your email list. I’d love to learn how to save more money to give back to HIS KINGDOM! I also have teenagers that are heading off to college, which will empty my pockets a bit as well. Thanks for all you do.
Carla
Kelly,
Thank you for the class today. It really gave me the encouragement I need even though I’ve been couponing for a year now. Your info was very helpful and uplifting. Thank You!!
Kelly Lee

Hi Kelly,
I feel truly blessed to have come across your website. I saw you on Tennessee Mornings this week and immediately searched for your site. My story is pretty much the same as yours, I too felt a calling from the Lord to stay home and stretch my husband’s income enabling me to stay home with my little ones. Your a true inspiration! Keep doing what you do!
God Bless you and your beautiful family!
Jamie
What a wonderul gift you have! I heard of your website on Air 1 radio station. I am excited to begin my journey to improve on our families budget. I was a stay at home mom but now have to work due to finances. We waste so much money on eating out, STARBUCKS and groceries! I am praying that I can grasp a hold of this and start saving some money! Thank you for being obedient to the Lord! God bless….Kirsten
I heard you on Air 1 radio and I thank you so much on making our budget stretch more. I too left work to be a stay at home mom to my three beautiful children. thank you! God is truely working in you and I hope I can do the same for others. Thank you!
Kelly,
This really couldn’t come at a better time. I, too, will be leaving my well paying job of which is better than half of our income and stepping out on faith in our Lord to live and live more abundantly in the roles I feel he is calling us too. Your words are true encouragement and I am excited to embrace the life God is “tugging” at my heart to live. Thank you for all the work you do and may God continue to always bless you as you are a blessing to others.
His Will, His Plan, His Purpose,
In Him,
Kathryn
You have a great story and one I want to remember. My husband and I just got married almost a year ago and we are hoping to start a family. I would like more than anything to stay home, but need to find a way to supplement my income because I make more than half of our income. We have talked about it and my husband is in support of me blogging and we both are hoping to find something else I can do from home. I am just going to keep praying about how the Lord wants me to do this.
Thank you for your inspiration!
Your testimony is of great encouragement! Thank you and may God continue to bless your ministry!
I can’t remember which blog I was reading that led me to your site, but so glad I found Faithful Provisions. I enjoy reading other money saving blogs but knowing yours is from a Christian viewpoint takes it to the top of my list. Thanks for all you do. I have couponed and been frugal for years even when it wasn’t necessary and we have been truly blessed. Now I am a stay at home mom and do it so we can save a little more each month so later we can live like no one else. I look forward to going back thru your site to see what else I can learn.
Thanks again for all you do.
Jenifer
Hi Kelly and all,
I have now been divorced for one year and have two teenaged daughters, a small farm and am in debt up to there and beyond due to the divorce. Your story and those of the other moms (and dads/others) on this site give me encouragement and real, tangible help just when I need it the most. Thank you – God truly does work in wondrous ways to answer prayers – even in the grocery store!!
Julie
I am new to your site and am so encouraged by your mission and the delight you get from being obedient to Him daily!
My God is an Awesome God!
Hi Kelly-
I just started couponing seriously about 6 weeks ago, and was thrilled to see your article in the November issue of HomeLife. Thanks for providing the link to your web site in the article. I am learning a lot!

I just started checking out your site and thank you for all the hard work you have put into your site. It’s unbelievable.
Once again ……I am thrilled to be here.
Cathy…….What an awesome testimony! Praise God for sharing your walk of faith. We do serve an awesome God who is always faithful to His promises. I have just begun checking out your website but couldn’t wait to say ‘thank you’.

Beth
Hi Kelly!
I found your blog through a Google search…. loved seeing your posts about favorite Aldi’s and Costco buys!
What a nice blog you have… and I love your heaven-ward focus!
Tammy
Any chance you could be persuaded to do a workshop in or near Chattanooga?
Love your website. You are blessed with a beautiful family.
Thank you for sharing your faith.
Let’s all keep Christ in Christmas.
Merry Christmas
I went to register for the Jan 23rd workshop but it listed the date of the workshop as Nov. 14th- it confused me and I wanted to make sure everything else was correct before I applied my cc info.
Thanks – for your time and attention!
Cheryl,
Sorry, I just had the wrong date listed, go ahead I fixed the date!
Thanks so much for all the valuable information you provide. I signed up in the Spring of 09 thanks to a friend telling me about your website. I’ve especially enjoyed all the free products and samples I’ve received. Wish I would have kept better track of the savings you have provided us with. Can’t wait to see what you have planned this year!
Thanks Again!!
Thank you for all of your hard work. I have not been following you for a very long time.
However, in these past few months I have enjoyed your site.
Soo, thank you very much and keep up the good work.
Debbie
Thank you, Thank you for all you do! I love your site and I especially love your devotion to keeping Christ at it’s center. I, too, think “stumbling” upon couponing was an answer to prayer for our family. I asked God that if my husband and I were where we are supposed to be and doing what we are supposed to, then he would have to show me a way to save more money on our income.
I now have people telling me to hold classes. What a great gift to pass along!
Thank you once again. God Bless.
Hi Kelly,
I just found your blog by using The Frugal Map to find blogger near me. There were none listed yet for South Carolina – I live in Greenville, SC – so
I thought I would check out Tenn. since we like to vacation in Pigeon Forge, TN. I will be checking your blog regularly for coupon match-ups. Thanks for all the work you put in to help us couponer save some money in this tight economy. Anita
Dear,
I want to make 1 guest post in your site, if you permit me. The post contains 300 words above and totally unique as it will be written by my content writer.I will place your link in my finance sites.
Please contact me at ericasmith568(at)gmail.com soon.

I want to thank you for this blog. As a single parent who is raising a family on less than $12,000/year income working a low paying job in today's standards, our food budget is only $150/month. I've used coupons to our advantage for over 30 years. However, your information helps me to do it with more time efficiency. God has supplied all our needs. It makes me ill to see how much some folks waste in $$ and food. We could feed so many more hungry children if we changed our ways in this country.
what you say is so true. although our kids are older (27,22,18, and 14) we believe it is still important to have mom at home. with my husband in real estate sales, 2009 was a trying year. i taught myself how to coupon with blogs like yours and we survived on only $6000 last year! my husband has a new job, but because i was so motivated to save money at the grocery store, i have taught others how to save by what i have learned. and we will never go back to shopping like we used to!
I see nothing personally wrong with God. As per say but i do believe that a good read of the bible will make your decision on whether God exists in some shape or form at all.
One of my co-workers gave me your website. I am new to this and have been researching everything I can find. I think your website will be very beneficial to me and my family. I respect what you stand for and for your belief in God.
I live on the west coast and there are not any coupon workshops in my area. Do you have any workshop videos I can download? I would love to learn more!

Hi, Kelly! I found your blog today and am so excited to begin following you on facebook! I love your blog and all it has to offer! I am also a mommy blogger and love meeting other mommy bloggers!
Elizabeth @TheThriftyDivas
Hi Kelly,
I just found your blog and am thankful for it. What would you say to a “mom-to-be” (in 28 days) who is wanting to not go back to her teaching job, but after sitting down and crunching the numbers with her husband, found that we would still barely scrape by, even after cutting out all non-necessary areas? We are just calculating bills and the bare bones of what has to be paid and will only be left with $200 or less/month to cover groceries and misc.
Becky
Becky – I would say to trust the Lord in what he is calling you to. We were in the SAME spot and the Lord sweetly provided. You will find that by adding couponing, especially to toiletries, cleaning supplies and household items you can save BIG. This cut our grocery budget by 75% which allowed us to have plenty.
I would recommend you make this your full time job. The money you save will far outweigh the money you could have made outside and paying for childcare. And you will be able to delight in the Lord and your family!
Good luck and God Speed!
I’m not sure what led me to your blog, but I thank God that I found it. We’re in a tough place financially, right now, and can use all the help/ideas we can get. I can’t wait to dive into what you’ve posted here.
I’m really just getting started on your website. I signed-up for e-mails back a month or so ago but have been working and didn’t have as much time as I do now.
I have just recenetly lost my job and I want to do everything and anything to help my husband know I’m trying to save us money in anyway
we can.
I’m 50 and having to turn my career choice in a different direction and its been, UHM, I guess challenging.
I do know though God does have a plan and I just have to be still and let Him guide me and move out of His way. He does not need my help!!!!!!!
So I truly feel God has brought you and this site into my life and SO many others and were grateful and blessed!!!!!! He does work through others!
So thank you for your Faith and your wonderful in-site you give us daily.
Have a blessed day.
Mary
Hi Kelly,
Your blog is such an inspiration. I am going thru something similar as DH was laid-off due to the recession.I hope to learn from you.I am glad i found your blog.Blessings to you!
Thanks for the great website! I love couponing and deals! My fiance is sick and I have two small children. Your tips always help us out! Please pray for fiance Marvin. Also, I need to find a complete P&G product list from H&B to food. Do you know where I can find one? Thanks, you guys are in our prayers and it is a wonderful thing you are doing with your blog. I happened upon it through a web search and I cannot find a more comprehensive site anywhere!
Hey Kelly- Thanks for sharing your expertise in wise stewardship! I have been able to stay at home & homeschool my 4 kids since my oldest son was born 19 years ago. God has made unique ways for me to assist my husband’s income thru the years & since 1998, we’ve been blessed with a home soap making business on our farm. God is a faithful Provider & always makes a way when we trust Him & operate under His parameters. Blessings to you!
Betsy
Kelly, Thank you for the inspiration. I was a stay at home mom while my kids were young after they all started school I went to work part time then eventually full time. I have a daughter in college, a son who is a senior in high school, and a sixth grader. During that time at home it was amazing how the Lord provided for us and one income. I wish that I had journal or kept up with some of the amazing provisions that he provided for us. But once back at work I don’t think that we noticed the way that God work as often because we were bringing in more money and we really didn’t have to rely on faith as much as we should have. My sister has always said you live on what you make no matter how much or how little. In April of last year I was laid off from work and have been drawing unemployment but that will soon be running out. I have really prayed about what the Lord is wanting me to do and I don’t feel as though he is caling me back into the outside workforce. I really feel that my husband wants me to go back to work and bring home a steady paycheck and I want to do what my husband wants since he is the leader of the house but I also want to be in the Lord’s will and this is a hard. I have been doing some odd jobs (helping people clean out and organize, selling items on ebay that I pick up at thrift stores, and I also have a booth with another girl at an antique place (some of my crafting projects and thrift store finds are sold). Also since I have been home I have been abled to use my coupons more wisely and grocery shop more effeciently -when working I didn’t have as much time to do this) I would really like you to pray that I would be able to find God’s will for my life and that my husband would be able to be support me in whatever God is calling me to do. I appreciate your willingness to put yourself out there and to show your faith in the Lord because you are truly a blessing and a witness at the same time. I will be joining you email list. Also on a last note I think I will be starting a blog to keep up with what the Lord is doing in my life and the provisions he provides for us.
Thanks for the tip. My husband got laid off about a year ago and we are stuggling to stay afloat. I am the sole bread winner now and by the grace of God have kept our home. I am still able to pay the morgtage and other bills. I have two beautiful children who are growing every day and need to save money.
God bless.
Ruby
Madam Kelly, after i read ur story i became very glad about it. In fact you are really a good Mother, Wife and Person. God bless u and thanks for the good thing ur doing.
Hello there Kelly. I just wanted to say thank you so much for this website and email I get every day. I love to open my inbox and find deals that noone else knows about. I just love to share it with others too! I don’t have a husband or any children of my own (yet) but am a single college student working on developing my business so that I don’t have to worry about corporate america’s status like so many others do. I am being blessed all the time by the Lord’s provisions for my tuition, but it’s the other money’s that I worry about. With your website, I know that I can get the best deals (sometimes I don’t do anything but use the free coupons!) for the little money I do have and still feel like a ‘normal’ college student.
Thanks again! You’re an inspiration.
Your story is SO encouraging and I’m excited that I stumbled across your blog.
My husband and I are on a journey to get out of debt and we’re trusting in the Lord every step of the way. I’m encouraged by the fact that the Lord has provided for you & we are definetly on mission to save money so thank the Lord for people like you. You make saving money easy!
God Bless,
Amanda Kelly

Wow what a blessing and encouragement to find your blog, thanks to a mention in All You magazine, which I heard about from another frugal blog I read. I have “stepped up” my frugal adventures in the last 2 months and now I am hooked. I wish I had started sooner!
Dear Kelly,
I’ve been a fan of Faithful Provisions for a couple of years now, and love it! I’ve always been good w/coupons but your website helps me even more. I do not have a home computer, and used to pull up your links at my work email address and printed all those great coupons from Coupons.com, etc. I am so upset that now I cannot do so! I have been coming to the local library, and even emailed someone for ‘troubleshooting’. I asked them how and if there was a way to download the coupon bar you need to print these coupons. I was so upset when after some research, I found out there was no way! Please, please can you suggest something. I really miss printing my coupons! Thank you, and may God bless your day!
Thank you so much for sharing your story and creating this blog. We’re a single income family as well, and I too want to be a better steward of the money God has given us.
Thank you for sharing your story! God is good and I am so thankful for Faithful Provisions!
Janice – Thank you so much for your encouragement!
My fiance and i just sat down with a lady who attended your seminar over coupons. We are so excited to start!!! The other day we went to Kroger and bought 8 boxes of pasta and 2 containers of Ragu and only spent $2.40 cents! How amazing is that! Our faces and we saw the price continuing to go down was like we had just won something huge! which we sort of did
! We are so thankful that God gave you this ministry to reach people in a authentic way! Thank you so much!
Kelsey – Thank you so much for taking the time to write and encourage me. It means a lot to hear from my readers and to be able to witness God at work! I am so excited for you and can’t wait to hear about your future deals.
Thank you for sharing. I too am a believer and am blessed to hear your story! It is so encouraging to me!
) God bless!
Hi,
How can I get learn your coupon system you mentioned? I am staying home this summer with my two boys, and one has multiple food allergies, so keeping our grocery budget down can be a challenge.
Thanks for your website and helpful info. It is a blessing!
Hi Kelly, I read your story and it was very inspirational. I am a mom of 5 young children and my husband works while I stay at home as well. God has really blessed us so much. It seems like our finances are enough to scrape by week by week. I have just recently started doing extreme couponing. However, I am not quite as good as the ladies on tv yet but, I feel like I am getting so much better. I get a little frustrated because when I use them there is so many people who get frustrated even the cashiers sometimes because of the amount of coupons I have. The people behind me get frustrated because they are waiting on me for so long. I know though in my heart that this is better for our finances and is right because of the money situation. I absolutely love doing coupons, I have gotten a lot of free stuff doing it. I will probably always use coupons now because I see how much money I was wasting before. I am hoping to get so good at coupons that we are able to get another vehicle in our family and build on to our home. I really believe God is teaching me exactly what I need to do with coupons though.
Thanks for sharing your story and God Bless!
Hi Patrice,
Thanks for your comment!
I don’t want you to feel discouraged about your couponing! It’s important to keep in mind that the people on the Extreme Couponing Show and the situations that show presents are not based in reality. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read my post on extreme couponing here: http://faithfulprovisions.com/2011/05/13/the-extreme-nature-of-tlcs-extreme-couponing-show/
Keep a smile on your face when you’re in that checkout line, Patrice, and try to have your coupons organized so that the cashiers can sort through them quickly. That will save a lot of time!
Keep trusting God–you can’t go wrong there!
I have a high schooler and a college student. I have never regretted staying home when they were small or as they were middle school age taking positions that allow me to be able to make my children a priority. I love that you are encouraging women to claim the blessings that God laid out for us as women. Our families are our blessings and our inheritance from our faith.
I was a part of the Barbie generation that said fulfillment was obtained outside the home and by the stuff you gather to you. God showed me different!! Thanks for your service to His Kingdom!!
my name is rhonda and like so many have been laid off from work but we are trusting God for our every need and i have witnessed how faithful God is to his children when we are truly believing him for everything, I can say that GOD IS SHOWING ME SO MANY WAYS TO MAKE IT ,WE HAVE SO MANY TALENTS THAT WE DONT THINK ABOUT AS TO MAKING MONEY,MY PRAYER TO GOD IS THAT I BE IN HIS WILL AND THAT I USE THE WISDOMS THAT HE HAVE GIVEN ME,WISDOM TO CUT BACK ,WISDOM TO SAVE ON COUPONING,AND OF COURSE WISDOM TO KNOW GODS VOICE WHEN HE IS SPEAKING TO ME
Hi Kelly,
I’m new to your blog and I just love all your great shopping tips and deals. Thanks for all you hard work.
Fred – Thanks so much! I hope you find it more useful every day as you use it.
Hi Kelly,
I just found your website as I was browsing for coupons. I just recently started this new adventure of coupons!
I am a mommy of a seventh month old little boy. This is not our first child, however this is the first time I have stayed home. Like you I had a calling on my life to be at home with my child. Something I had always wanted to do but never imagined that I could.
Giving all glory to our Lord we have made ends meet every month. I love staying home with our child but time can get tough. My faith tells me other wise even though the world can say different. Every bit of help is a blessing and I thank God for your testimony and wedsite!
Hello Kelly! I saw on FB where your biggest supporter, Bradford, announced your new book, so I decided to take a look. I am so impressed with the choices you made and the focus you put on God through it all. I am excited about your new book and will share this with my friends and famly. I have know Brad for years; he was kinda like the little brother that I never had when we worked together at Bartholomew’s. I am so proud that God placed you in his life. It sounds like you all have the full package. Good Luck and tell Bradford hello!
Sonya
Sonya – Thanks so much, yes I do. He is amazing and we are very blessed. Hope to meet you next time we are in town!
Hi Kelly,
This is my first time on your site. You have a very inspiring story and I hope to learn from you while I trust the Lord will provide all our needs. My husband and I work together, we are in the process of launching a new company that will allow people amazing deals on travel and entertainment, and it has been a huge proof of God’s faithfulness and provision. While it hasn’t been easy, we are trusting God has a plan for us as a family and as business people, and as His children.
Thank you for sharing your story, I hope to learn a lot from you about being resourceful and trusting God to the max.
This is also my first time on your site (saw your recipe on Annie’s Homegrown FB page). The Luke verses you have at the top of your page really struck a chord with me….my husband is an officer in the Army and makes a very good salary, but is being medically discharged soon due to injuries he has received during his service. For him being forced out in this economy…wow. I have been so worried how we are going to make it period, and if I will have to go back to work (I had a career before my twins were born.) I really don’t want them in daycare because we waited so long to have children – I wanted to be a stay at home mom. You are so right though….the Lord does provide – always. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that and to just have faith!
Hi, Kelley I too read everything u had to say about your life, and I loved it I would love to learn how to save this way. I am wanting to be able to give something to the people who need it food or whatever , we all are in need now. The song I love to sing, when I read it I already knew it I love it. A real person in JESUS, CHRIST, name .AMEN and GOD BLESS u and your family, keep going, step on in FAITH. Young Lady u are adorable keep helping others! LOL
This is my favorite hymn. The chorus, which I sing often, lifts my spirit. All I have needed thy hand hath provided. These are certainly words to count on. Bless you on your journey of faith. My journey of faith started before I was 10. Now at 70, I have started a journey of savings so that I can share what I have. Thank you for your blog.
I have been “learning” to coupon since February and have basically dabbled in it. Today, I went on my first real extreme couponing trip to Publix. I got $89.45 worth of groceries for $28.18!!!!! It was awesome!!! And addictive!!!
I dumpster dive for coupons so I have tons of coupons & was beginning to wonder if I was really going to put to use all this paper in my binder! Today was a thrill! I can’t wait to go again. Unfortunately, until I get paid again, my grocery budget is gone!
It is such a blessing to be a good steward of the provision God has given me! Thanks, Kelly for your inspiration and for sharing your knowledge.
If you are like me looking for all the deals and figuring out all the combinations of coupons and sales was OVERWHELMING! My advice to you . . . stick with it! This idea is TOTALLY worth it!
God Bless!
I am so encouraged to see and visit your website. I am feeling there is a reason God keeps bringing me back to these types of websites, the coupon shopping. I keep asking him to show me what he wants me to do and am just waiting for him to make clear what it is. Like David, I am after God’s heart. I want nothing more than to do what he wants me to with no hesitation.
I stumbled across your website when I was looking for a minute steak recipe. I found so much more! I am a wife and stay at home mom to 5 beautiful children. Needless to say, I am always searching for ways to save money while walking in faith with God’s plan for our lives. I am looking forward to digging deaper into your website. Blessings to you and your family!
Hi Kelly, Just wanted to drop you a quick note. I am currently working on your audiobook (sounds great!). I was so excited when I saw a book about saving money and couponing (I usually get books I’m not that interested in). I’ve been couponing for about a year and half and it has made the biggest change in how our household runs. Can’t wait to hear the rest of it tomorrow night !
Kelly, I found you in the All You magazine. I love your story and how our God has shaped and formed your days to help other people. What a beautiful calling He’s given you and what practical help you have for so many of us money managers in the home. I look forward to learning from you! Peace
Wow, this is great! I LOVE that you are unapologetic for your Faith in Jesus & His provision in your family’s life. I participate in 2 other saving blogs, but it is nice that this one is based on biblical Truth. Looking forward to saving with you
We can compare our savings in Heaven one day, lol.
Wow! I stumbled across your website by accident and it has now become my favorite couponing site! It’s so nice to have access to great savings and the Lord all on one site! Thank you for providing this service! God bless!
Hello Kelly,
I received your book as a gift from my mother-in-law two weeks ago and I must say it has truly been a blessing. Just like you, God has given me the desire to quit my job and stay home with my two beautiful children. Your book has encourged me to not worry about my situation at hand, but step out on faith and trust GOD that HE will supply my needs
GOD BLESS!!!
I am so glad I found your site. One of my favorite churches on the planet is in Franklin, I try to get there once or twice a year for conferences. Put me on your mailing list and maybe I will be able to catch one of your classes while I am there. Thank you, for shareing your faith. God is truely a great provider.

Hi. Thanks so much for this blog. I found you through a link that was posted in an article on MSN about spending $100 in total on Christmas gifts. I can’t wait to check out your blog more. I love your concept and I totally support your reasoning for doing this. I am in a similar position, I stay home with my kids because I have really felt that was my place and have always wanted to be able to do it, even through the years I worked outside the home, my heart’s cry was to be able to stay home, but the finances always dictated that I work. Anyway, things worked out that I could stay home (though not as I had planned it would happen) so now I can’t see ever going back. I would love to be able to contribute to our family’s income from home. Until then, I look forward to learning all I can to spending less on necessities and being a better steward of our family’s income. I take that job very seriously-if I can’t contribute more $, then I can make sure we spend less so we have more to give out, especially to others, like through mission outreaches. That is the issue that has been bothering me the most, not having the money to give to help others in need. When your heart is impressed to help and you don’t have to give, it’s an awful feeling. I give through prayers, but it would be so nice to be able to give. So, thank you for your encouraging site and for your heart to help others. God Bless You.
Thank you for sharing your story, it is very inspiring. I am also a stay at home mom. I love staying home with my daughter, it has been the most rewarding years of my life. It has not always been easy but our Faith in God has also gotten us through. Using my coupons, scaling down and focusing on whats important in our lives has made it possible for me to be a SAHM. Thank you for having this wonderful site, I look forward to reading more.
hi kelly, i just found ur blog thru (in)courage today(1/9/2012) and i have always been hesitant to start using cpns. it seems like it takes alot of organization and running to this store and that store. maybe i’m wrong, but in any case, i ususally buy generic brans anyway and i usually shop at walmart, target and costco for the great prices. w/ a family of 5 we usually spend about $500 per month on food, but we only get paid once a month and we usually run out of food or close to it, before the next paycheck, so i would like to learn more about this way of life! thanks!
Deanna – welcome! I’m glad you found our site thru (in)courage. I know it can seem overwhelming at first to think about using coupons & making a meal plan. A great place to begin is on my “Start Here” page (http://faithfulprovisions.com/getting-started/). I cover all the ways you can use coupons, make a meal plan, how to budget & make a plan and lots more. I think you’ll find it very helpful!
Or, if you’d like more detailed information, you can get a copy of my book, “Saving Savvy Book” (http://www.savingsavvybook.com) and learn even more ways to cut your spending in half.
Hi Kelly, My husband is being laid off next year and I have always been frugal and an extreme couponer. I pray the factory does stay in CT (Senators are working on it) and that I am still able to be a stay at home and do what I’ve been doing which is selling Avon, doing product surveys, and couponing. It all adds up but only God knows what is in our future. Please keep us in your prayers and thanks for the great things you write.
Phyllis
I found your site as I was searching for salsa recipes, and I am truly sitting here in tears over your testimony about stepping out in faith to what God has put in your heart. I, too, work away from home and make great money (on third shift, no less), but I have been feeling that tug on my heart (I think from God) to quit and stay home to take care of my family as well. It’s scary thinking of what could happen without my income, although my husband makes pretty good money as well. Your story is very encouraging, and I have signed up for you newsletters. Can’t wait to try so many of your tips/ recipes!!
I just purchased your book “Saving Savvy” at my local christian bookstore (in the bargain buys” ).
Hopefully you will be happy that I got a deal !!! All kidding aside, I CAN NOT put this book down.
Although my children are grown, I have been using coupons and shopping clearance sales for
years–I found info in your book that was new to me. You inspired me to clean out my pantry &
inventory my stock. I am now ready to Flash Freeze food that I did not even think about before.
Then it hit me……this book would make a great gift to new brides just starting their family and home.
So I returned to my local store in search of more of your books. When I could not find any & I
asked the store clerk to check, he found one more left and I bought it. I have passed the book on to a young mother in my church family that needs encouragement and info on saving money
and learning to cook. I can not wait to see what she thinks. I will add you to my prayer list for
God’s continued hand on your life. God Bless You and thanks.
Wow! Theresa, thank you so much for your sweet words and encouragement. It really means a lot and I am so glad that the book has been so helpful!
Greetings.
I have worked as a cashier, and seen many couponers. The problems I have seen with Couponing are that people become very material oriented. They buy things without need, just because they can buy them. if there is a shelf of cereal, and they have 20 boxes at home, i have seen them buy out the shelf anyways, simply because they could pay something like 25 cents a box on just the tax. Many deal shopper have stockpiles of stuff they got just because they could buy it cheaply. is there a problem with this?
If any person claims to be for God, and they get into couponing, i would advise they take heed not to be become material oriented. and also to consider other shoppers, not clearing out entire shelves when other people may also want to buy that product.
I’ve seen countless coupon shoppers attempt to intentionally use a coupon on something they know it was not intended to work with. Seeing a coupon that says “Gillette new fusion pro-glide razor with power” that is regularly 20 dollars, and they will try to use it on a 9 dollar Gillette razor that obvious was not intended to be used with the coupon. this is coupon fraud, even if the computer accepts it. I wonder as to the morality of the people who do this, even as much as I dislike big businesses that put out the coupons in the first place.
So, if you decide to take on couponing, and deal shopping, take heed that you don’t fall into the story of the man who gathered his harvest, filled his barns and had more. he said, i will build bigger barns, and i will store it all up and take it easy and relax.
then God said “fool” and took his life that night…..
I just learned about you the other day when I was looking at books at a local Christian bookstore. Something with Dave Ramsey and All You Magazine caught my eye, as I listen to him, and I used to read ALL You on a regular basis. Alot of thoughts are common sense as I had learned over the years, it was just applying it to my life was difficult.
I thought when I got a 40 % off coupon I was going to buy your book, as I really didn’t have the funds to buy the book. My husband gifted me some money to take my mom out today, so I was off to buy the book. I kept hmming about whether I would really need your book.. if even $10 was worth the investment, or was it things I had already knew from magazines, etc? Instead I treated my mom to something else with the coupon. I looked your name up on Christian Book Distributor, and found you had an ebook.
Really I don’t sit down and read books that often because of a short distraction problem I have. WHich is partly why I didn’t know if I should spend $10-$15 for the book.
Well, when I found the ebook, I thought that it was worth trying.. and I was happy I did.. And saved even more!
Love your story – I have always wanted to do what you did…. I gave up my job once so that my husband could pursue his art career. Now I am itching to do a dog rescue … but I’m the one that provides our health insurance …. I keep praying that God will open that door for me somehow. Love my animals – and would love to be able to help more! Thanks for your inspiring story
Debby, I want to encourage you to trust in the Lord, He will direct your paths! Thank YOU for reading and encouraging me!!
Thank you for being so open and honest with your story. You will never know how many lives you have touched and changed just by being willing to share the details of your life. I’m on that same fence right now…struggling with the decision to make changes in my career to allow more time for my family. It’s so hard to follow that tugging in your heart and mind when you have become entrenched in the world’s two-income model and aren’t sure how to take the next step. Thank you for showing that it can be done and it can work out beautifully. You are a blessing –
