Of all the different smoothies I make, I think this is my kids favorite. When I get a good deal on milk and have lots of frozen bananas, i make it a lot. This is also makes great popsicles, just add a little extra milk to thin it out.
Tip: If you have frozen bananas, you can omit the ice. It is actually best when you have frozen bananas!

This is a GREAT one, especially as a treat for the kids – just had to share this – I got a great deal on Almond Milk so I picked up one chocolate flavored and used that instead of the milk – that definitely went over well (not just with the kids!):)
prob a silly question but when you say frozen bananas does that mean very ripe frozen bananas like the kind you use for banana bread?
I don’t usually have them that ripe, but just not green. You want them to be sweet, so I use anything that has started to ripen or have brown spots. I hope that helps!
We have been making something similar for years. I like to freeze my bananas (just peel and bag). No ice needed, the frozen banana makes them thicker. Feel free to substitute any vanilla or plain yogurt for the milk, adds active cultures, great for digestion.
We mad ethics today using 1/4 cup Almond milk and 3/4 cup plain Vanilla yogurt instead of the cup of milk, added some ground Flax seed. It was super yummy. I may have to try the choc. Almond milk recommended another time because I am new to Almond milk and wasn’t sure if I would be able to drink it or not. Thanks everyone for the ideas and recipe.
