This Thursday, May 5th, our country will be observing the 2011 National Day of Prayer. Check out the National Day of Prayer website to find a prayer event in your community, tips on praying for our nation, and how you can get involved.
I think it’s important that we also recognize this special day in our homes. With your children, take time to pray for:
- Our country’s leaders—the President, Vice-President, and Congressional leaders
- Your state governor
- Your mayor
- Police officers, members of your local Fire department, and other volunteers
- Your community and neighbors
Remember every day to pray for our troops!
Thank you so much for continuing this important event where once a year the world can come together and pray. I believe in the power of prayer, especially, corporate prayer. God will bless us again if we turn from our ways and turn back to Him. In November 2010, I brought for the first time the National Public Bible Reading to the steps of City Hall in Jersey City New Jersey and received a Mayor’s Proclamation for this event. I hope that we can join in solidary this year to bring a National Bible reading back into our Nation. Again, I thank God for Billy Graham and the whole team who continue to stand against the adversary to bring prayer to our Nation and to the world. My friends in China want to see this event come to China and if you will consider, please include me in the development. Let us continue to stand against the kings of this world and to not bow but stand on Luke 12:24.
God bless us all,
Glendora Collier
Did Mr. Obama celebrate with us today? Remember him, he’s our ‘Christian’ president.
