This is perfect…I was just reading about slow cookers in your book last night. The only recipe that I do “really well” in a crock pot is Pot Roast using a free range chuck roast, new potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onions and mushrooms with natural beef stock. It simmers on low all day long and tastes wonderful. I really do need to try new recipes though to add to our meal planner.
Thanks,

With birthday money from my grandfather in 1994 I bought a slow cooker, because I was in grad school and needed it. I’m still using that same one.
A good standby is chili. A pound of ground beef or turkey, two cans of stewed tomatoes, chili powder, garlic, some extra cumin, a can of green chilies, and two cans of beans……pinto, kidney, or black beans.
Following you on Facebook and twitter. My favorite things to make it the crock put are BBQ meatballs, buffalo chicken dip, and soup! Sorry, I couldn’t pick just one. Now that some great crockpot recipes are surfacing, I plan on making more in my crockpot for dinners. Right now I’m in desperate need of a new crockpot. Here’s to hoping I can win one! Thanks for the giveaway. It is very much appreciated by all followers.

This is a favorite appetizer for Thanksgiving in our family. We just love this twist on a classic.
1 bag of frozen mini turkey meatballs
1 can of jellied cranberry
1 jar of chili sauce
Throw it all in the crockpot together. Cook on high for 4-6 hours. If the meatballs are defrosted or you crisp them up in the oven first you can lower the temperature or the cooking time.
I love this recipe too! So easy for potlucks and gatherings!

Believe it or not, I am pretty new to the Crock Pot. But my friend made this and it was delicious and now I need to get my own CrockPot. This would be awesome to use since we have so many afternoon activities. Throw everything in and when the kids are home they have dinner ready… I can’t believe I never realized how awesome crockpots are. I really hope I win!
Beef Tacos

• 1 cup chopped onions
• 1 tablespoon chili powder
• 1 tablespoon crushed oregano
• 1 minced garlic clove
• 10 oz can diced green chiles
• 28 oz can diced tomatoes
Preparation:
Place meat in slow cooker, top with rest of ingredients in order given. Cook on HIGH for 5 hours or LOW 10 hours, until meat is tender. Serve rolled in flour tortillas, topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream, black olives, guacamole or salsa.
My favorite Crock Pot Recipe has got to be BBQ Chicken sandwiches. Fav Crock Pot recipe is Pork with chiles and mexican spices for tamales and taquitos.
cool recipes!!!!!! 🙂
I use my slow cooker ALL THE TIME. I am especially fond of making my homemade spagetti sauce in it. Love the fact that you put it together, cook it all day and never worry about it scorching like you would on a stove. I also make chili and stews this way.

I love Italian Chicken because it is SO easy—6 chicken breasts with a 16 oz bottle of Italian dressing poured over. Cook on low all day and serve with rice and the juices poured over. The juices do not taste like Italian dressing at all but like something homemade that took some time to make. This is one of my favorites for Sundays because it takes so little time and it will be done when I get home from church if I cook it on high. Set up your rice cooker along side and you only need a veggie and a salad when you come in the door.
I have been following on FACEBOOK and love the recipes.

I just made a great turkey chili on Halloween to feed our family that came over to trick or treat in our neighborhood. It was a huge hit and it made a ton!
1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
1 small onion
2 cans chili beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can green chili peppers
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 green pepper- chopped
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
Cook the ground turkey and onion until done. Put all ingredients in the crock pot on low for 6 hours.
I also had chopped onion and shredded cheese to add as toppings and mini corn bread muffins to break up in it. It was really yummy!!
I use my crock pot at least once a week! The newest recipe I tried was Crock Pot Lasagna and it was yummo!! I would love to win this Crock Pot b/c my mom asked for one for Christmas and I would love to be able to give her such a nice one=) Thank you!!
I also follow you on Facebook and recieve emails=)
Crock Pot Lasagna
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
3 cans (15 ounces each) Italian-style tomato sauce
2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
1 container (15 ounces) part-skim ricotta cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
15 uncooked lasagna noodles
Cook meat and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, basil and salt.
Mix 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese and the ricotta and Parmesan cheeses. (Refrigerate remaining mozzarella cheese while lasagna cooks.)
Spoon one-fourth of the meat mixture into 6-quart slow cooker; top with 5 noodles, broken into pieces to fit. Spread with half of the cheese mixture and one-fourth of the meat mixture. Top with 5 noodles, remaining cheese mixture and one-fourth of the meat mixture. Top with remaining 5 noodles and remaining meat mixture.
Cover and cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours or until noodles are tender.
Sprinkle top of lasagna with remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese. Cover and let stand about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Cut into pieces.

I am just starting to get back into using my CrockPot, and I am discovering its wonders all over again. I love it. My favorite recipe is “Saucy Pork Chops” it is super easy, you just place your pork chops into the Crock and cover with cream of mushroon soup with garlic (one can per 4 chops). I love this recipe because it is so easy to adapt to my family, there are 7 of us, so finding recipes for large families is rather difficult at times.
love Paula Deen’s mac n’cheese crock pot recipe!

Our favorite recipe right now is just to throw chicken breast (fresh or frozen) in the crockpot and a bottle of barbeque sauce! Comes out perfect everytime – we have the chicken with sides the first night and I shred up the leftovers to use for another recipe the next night!

I LOVE your Chicken Stroganoff recipe. It’s my Sunday go-to dish! I also like Paula Deen’s Taco Soup and my mom’s wassil drink for the holidays.
With my family of five (which I am the only female) hearty and filling are two words I have to make sure go with tasty due to our growing boys! One of our big favs the kids call stinky steak. (bad name I know great results!)
2-3lb Round Roast rubbed with Black Pepper and fresh minced garlic
place in Crock Pot
mix 1/4 cup soy sauce, 2 tbs balsamic vinegar, 2 tbs Worcestershire, 2 tsp dry mustard and pour over roast.
Cook on low 8 hours for a spicy and tender main dish.
We either add big egg noodles in the last hour of cooking or serve with mashed potatoes (frozen is quickest!)
Our crock pot has seen better days, so I would LOVE a new one and look forward to the unveiling tomorrow!
My family loves slow cooker carnitas. Slow cook a pork loin for 5 hrs then add your favorite mexican seasoning. Then have soft shells and cheese and enjoy
My favorite CP recipe is for roast.
Put roast in cp frozen. Cover with a package of onion soup mix & a can of golden mushroom soup. Add one can of water. Cook on low all day. About 30 minutes before serving add some fresh mushrooms if you like them. Yummy!

I wish I had favorite recipe, but every time I used it, the meal was either burned or incredibly dry and chalky. The recipes I used were tried and true recipes that my mother gave me, and I always followed the directions to a T. Maybe my crock-pot gets too hot? Or maybe it’s just my luck? Who knows, but I pretty much gave up on crock-pot meals a while ago (even though it would be a HUGE timesaver as both my husband and I work full-time). I would LOVE to win this to give crock-potting a second chance! 🙂
I’m now following Faithful Provisions and Crockpot on Facebook. 🙂
Pulled BBQ chicken:
3 Breasts halved
1 bottle BBQ sauce
1/2 Italian dressing
1/4 brown sugar
2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
mix all of the ingredients, add the chicken. cook for about 6-7 hrs on low or 3-4 on high.
forgot to add: pull the chicken (i just use 2 forks) when it’s cooked then mix it all up in the crock pot. you may let is simmer for a little if desired. Put it over rice, bread, or just eat it as is. We like to make sandwiches and add cheddar cheese.
I have many fav recipes for my slow cooker but one super easy one is Chicken in a Crock pot from weelicious.com. You can find it here:

My fave recipe is actually one my husband dreamed up. He takes baby-back ribs, cooks them in pot until done, then pours off all grease. He then coats them liberally in BBQ sauce and spices and cooks them on high for about 10-15 minutes. Melt in your mouth delish!

Peel and slice 2 medium sweet potatoes and one small onion, place into bottom of crockpot. Take stuffed chops and place in a preheated skillet on meduim with 2 Tbsp of oil. Brown both sides of chops and place them on top of the potatoes and onions. Then, take 3 Tbsp of maple syrup and 2 tsp of ground ginger, put in the hot skillet you just used…stir and then pour over top of the chops. Cook on low for 6 hrs. 🙂

The last thing I made in my Crock Pot (last week) was:
MOJO PORK
1 Pork Butt Roast
Salt and Pepper
1 Bottle Mojo Marinade
2-3 Onions depending on size of roast and how many people your are feeding
Put roast into a glass dish or large zip lock bag with enough marinade to almost cover (reserve some for later). You can salt and pepper now or after the roast is taken out of the marinade and put into the crock pot. Let marinate overnight or about 8 hours, turning occasionally so all sides are marinated. Take roast out of marinade and put roast in the crockpot, slice onions on top and pour fresh marinade over top. Cook according to directions for the # of lbs for your size roast. When done, remove onions and set aside, shred pork and serve on hoagie rolls with whatever condiment you like, top with the onions. This is so easy and delicious
I love my crockpot….especially having 2 kids, homeschooling and working from home! My fav has got to be chili. Fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers, 2 kinds of beans, cumin, garlic and chili powder, and meat if we like 🙂
I love making black bean soup in the crockpot, but my current “slow cooker” is too small to do lots of the recipes I’m interested in trying. Would love to win a new one!!!

My favorite Crock Pot recipe lately has been making apple butter and canning it.
I start of with 7 quarts of peeled, chopped apples. add cinnamon, nutmeg, apple cider, lemon juice and sugar to taste. I place it in the crock pot overnight on low and it is always fabulous in the morning and ready for canning. I do crack the lid a little for about 1-2 hours in the morning to get it to the consistency I like.
I don’t have a favy b/c the one I got for a wedding present 6 yrs ago cooks too hot. It turned tomatoes into charcoal on the lowest setting! I think all the time about how I want one, so this would be awesome!

Favorite crock pot recipe is from a friend, Darcy Chicken. Take about 4 or 5 chicken breasts, throw them in a crockpot with two cans of cream of chicken soup, one block of cream cheese and one package of dry italian dressing…let it cook all day. I serve mine over egg noodles, or it’s great with rice. It falls apart and is DELICIOUS!!! Yummmmmmm!

I am currently using one of those crock pots from the 80’s.( & you do not want to know how i acquired it lol) Its not sheik but it does do the trick :0) I have seen so many great recipes posted on here and hope to try them soon but lately its been the classic pot roast recipe Ive made and we love it. SO easy and super good. I try to look for the bogo deals on the rump roast at our local grocery then (since i have a small family) cut one of them in half and freeze the others for later.
Pot Roast:
potatoes cut in halves
one small onion cut into chunks
a handfull of baby carrots to taste
then i add meat and yummy sauce on top
(yummy sauce ingredients)
1 tbs Worcestershire
2 tbs bbq sauce
1 tbs dales seasoning or soy sauce
garlic salt
onion salt
pepper
I know… way simple and Im no Martha Stewart but this is a great family favorite. I am secretly hoping to win a new cooker just so i can have a great excuse to try some new recipes :0)

1/2 to 1 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional- for a “kick”)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 – 1 tsp. garlic powder
Mix BBQ sauce with all ingredients listed under it. Place chicken in Crockpot. Pour sauce over it and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.

I like to keep hot spiced cider in the crock pot at Christmas time. 1/2 gal of cider, 1 orange and one lemon sliced, 1 tsp each of cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg wrapped in a small cloth if ground.
Sounds great! Good Luck everyone!

4 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

My favorite is Taco Soup… It is so easy. 1lb browned ground beef, 1 can ranch style beans, 1 can pinto beans, 1 can stewed tomatoes, 1 can corn, 1 can rotel, & 1 pkg taco seasoning. You just dump each can into the crockpot without draing and cook for 4 hours on low. Serve with sour cream, grated cheese, totilla chips (we like to crumble them into our soup), & black olives. Yummy!

I LOVE to make chili in the crockpot, but have recently discovered many new recipes that are adding more variety to our dinner table!
My old standby is pot roast with carrots, potatoes, & celery.
I love turkey wings in the crockpot.
I have been following “you” via your newsletter for quite some time now, and really like it and have shared it with others … thank you! I love anything made in a crock-pot, it’s a win-win situation every time, can’t fail with crock-pot recipes. My crock pot is so old that when I contacted CrockPot to buy a new lid (mine is plastic), they don’t make that particular crock pot any more, nor a replacement lid. 🙁

Crock Pot Stroganoff
2 pounds cubed stew meat
2 cans Condensed Golden Mushroom Soup
1 largish onion diced
2-3-4 tabls of Worcestershire (this stuff is so awesome I always add more)
1/2 water
8 oz of cream cheese (the first time I made this with just 1lb of meat I still added 8 oz’s, sshh don’t tell my lactose intolerant hubbie)
couple of dashes of Garlic Salt (1 tsp?)
couple dashes of Hot Paprika (see I just can’t believe this would be good without some sort of kick)
In the slow cooker stir in all the ingredients, except the meat AND the Cream Cheese, together. Once combined add the meat and mix together.
Cook on Low for 8 hours. Cut up the cream cheese into cubes just before serving and turn crockpot on high. Stir the cream cheese in until all combined. You might have to put the lid back on and leave for 10 minutes.
Serve over egg noodles. Or mashed potatoes, I won’t tell anyone but I would really like to not be alone in this.
Molly – I just saw this and was thawing stew meat! And I have ALL the ingredients on hand, putting it in my Crock-Pot as we speak! Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂
