Superbowl Recipe Ideas
Superbowl party foods and appetizers can be expensive, especially when you are feeding a crowd. Try these Superbowl Recipe Ideas and plan your menu around sale items so you can feed a crowd of friends easily and inexpensively. These easy, low-cost Superbowl recipe ideas are perfect, no matter which team you’re cheering for this weekend.
APPETIZERS
- Hot Artichoke Dip – This is always a crowd pleaser & only requires 7 items to make.
- Buffalo Chicken Dip – Not only is this my favorite, but everything I need to make this I have on hand: canned chicken, cream cheese, blue cheese dressing, shredded cheese, and plenty of Frank’s RedHot sauce.
- Guacamole – Avocados are on sale for $1 each this week at Kroger. (See all the Kroger Deals HERE.)
- Chunky Guacamole – I prefer the chunky, but either recipe is delicious and a money-saver. You’ll find avocados on sale wherever you shop.
- Easy Salsa Fresca – Canned tomatoes work great with this recipe. If you’ve been learning how to stockpile, you probably have plenty of these on hand.
- Vegetable Tray – You don’t have to purchase an expensive, pre-made vegetable tray from your grocer’s deli. Just put together your own using the vegetables that are on sale. (Download my FREE Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables Chart HERE.) Try colorful red, yellow, and orange peppers and mini carrots. Use ranch-flavored dressing as the dip.

MAIN COURSE
Slow Cooker Texas Chili – Serve over spaghetti, Cincinnati style. This is an inexpensive way to make it go further when you have a big crowd. Plus, people love it! When people ask you what they can bring, assign chili toppings: chopped onion, corn chips, shredded cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, and green onions. (What are your favorite chili toppings? Anything different?)
FOR THE KIDS: I know what you’re thinking: So far, my kids and their friends aren’t going to touch most of this stuff. Right? Serve up some pigs in a blanket (hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls) for a kid-pleasing favorite. They can still enjoy the vegetable tray, a sprig of grapes, and maybe some cut-up oranges.
DESSERTS
- Brownies – Brownie mix is on sale everywhere! This is a no-fail dessert.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies – If you took advantage of National Oatmeal Month and all the sales that went with it, you probably have everything you need on hand to make these cookies. My kids love to make these with me. Plus, there is no baking involved, keeping your oven free for the pigs in a blanket!
