My goal at Faithful Provisions is to help you learn how to save money, so that you can live generously. That is the motivation behind what I do. Today, I’m excited to let you know about an event going on throughout the entire online couponing community that is going to allow us to join together and give like never before: Couponing for Community.
Coming up May 6-12, Couponing for Community will once again use the power of couponing to make a united impact.
Here’s how:
Use your couponing skills to give to your local homeless shelter, food pantry, or even a friend in need. May 12 is also National Stamp Out Hunger Day, so giving is as easy as leaving a bag of non-perishable items by your mailbox.
This year’s goal is to give 30,000 items during this one week. You’re invited to track your giving during the week of May 6-12 and then share your story and pictures on the Couponing for Community Facebook page. A giving tracker will be available to tally up everyone’s efforts.
How can you participate?
Head on over and “like” the Couponing for Community Facebook page. (And if you’ve never “liked” the Faithful Provisions Facebook page, do so now!) You’ll stay up to date on the details of the upcoming event, plus connect with all of the others participating.
Over the next few weeks, begin to set aside items that you can donate during the week of May 6-12. Remember to always check our Store Deals and coupon matchups HERE before you head out to do your shopping so you’ll find the best deals. Plus, I will have items listed in the Weekly Meal Plan (which goes up each Sunday) that I think are the best deals for the Couponing for Community event. Make sure to keep track of the number of items that you give away. You can even take a picture to upload on the Facebook page.
If you have a blog and would like to participate, simply write up a post about Couponing for Community and then submit the direct link to your post on the ‘Join Us’ tab on the Couponing for Community Facebook page.
Will you be participating? This is the perfect opportunity to “save money…live generously.” What are the items you already know you will be donating?
So excited about this! What a great way to join together and encourage each other to be generous (and extra generous through coupons) with what the Lord has given us!! And what a great way to help out our communities. I’ve got some great deals from couponing (a big ole box of tea that was $.17, a bunch of canned soups, some instant coffee packets); I can’t wait to give those and add to the stash in the next few weeks!
Thanks for sharing this with us!!
