So, what exactly are graven images? Is the worship of idols happening around us today? What is idol worship?
I am so excited to be partnering with LifeWay to bring you an online Bible study on the subject of false gods, with the book, No Other Gods by Kelly Minter. Personally, I’m very excited about this study because God has made it clear to me lately, through various Bible passages I’ve been reading, that I struggle with idolatry in different forms (one of the greatest of God’s laws from the Bible) in my daily walk. It’s amazing what forms idolatry can take. I am looking forward to working through my own issues of lifting up other gods to find the freedom that Christ offers. As I am in week one of the study myself right now, I am amazed at the bondage I am in that I didn’t even realize, until I began exploring these laws from the Bible. My desire and my hope is that this study will do the same for you. I look forward to meeting you here each week and discovering together what God is revealing to us.
Over the past two years, I have had to step away from a formal Bible study due to my schedule, and I realize that I need and miss the fellowship of other women. If you have found yourself in the same spot, then this online Bible study is a perfect opportunity to be fed spiritually and to be in fellowship with other like-minded women each week.
I am purposefully scheduling this at a time that I hope you will be able to commit to and have undivided attention without the distractions of kids and work, and all the things that seem to distract us. Even if you don’t finish the week’s homework, I still encourage you to meet with us on the blog and in the Facebook chat to share and connect with the group. This is also a great opportunity to invite your friends to join in too—people you might not get to see often who live in another city, state, or country.
