There are a few good produce deals this week. I haven’t been, these are ad sales.
Things to know…
- You must have a quarter to get a shopping cart; you get it back when you return the cart.
- Payment options are only debit cards or cash.
- You bag your own groceries and bring your own bags, they have bags for 5¢ at the register.
- Go here for a list of my favorite everyday Aldi low prices.
==========================
Bananas — $.39/lb
Cantaloupe — $.99/ea
Tangerines, 3-lb bag — $.99
Naval Oranges, 4-lb bag — $1.49/ea
Grapefruit — $.25/ea
My Aldi had sweet potatoes 29 cents for a 3 pound bag. More sweet potato fries to freeze!
I’m going to ask a newbie question, but how do you freeze sweet potatoes? and can you do regular ones also?
Mindy- I flash freeze them first on a cookie sheet (after they cool), flash freeze them, see directions here. I cook them frozen just like I would frozen french fries, I use the same directions :).
I think it’s NAVEL oranges….=)
FYI, I picked up candy cane chocolate sandwich cookies (think Oreos with candy candy creme filling) at Aldi’s a couple days before Christmas for .99 a package. They were GREAT!! If you see them, and you like minty Oreos, try them out.
