I tried this with the creamer last week and the register would only accept one coupon because it resulted in an overage. How do you get money back when the coupon policy states…
“In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.”

Renee — You should be okay if you are purchasing multiple items in your transactions to catch the overage. What the verbiage means is that they will discount the value of the coupon to match the price of the item and you won’t get overage. I hope that helps.

Thank you! I did throw in a small item to catch the overage, however it didn’t work. The register refused to scan my second coupon. Boo.

Good question, Renee. I don’t remember all the details about the creamer deal, but here’s how this one will work.

The cough syrup is $5.99. Subtract the $3 coupon, and you’ll be paying $2.99 (plus tax) out of pocket. Then you’ll get back a $6 register reward. So, the overage is in the form of a register reward, not actual cash. But since I can use the $6 RR to buy other things, I consider it overage.

    Does this make sense?

Jayme – I am not sure about that. Be sure to put your zip in for anything to come up!
