This past Sunday at church our pastor lead us in an exercise on remembering. It had to do with how the Hebrews observe Passover every year so they would not forget. With that, he asked everyone to write down three challenges and three blessings remembered from 2010.
I listed my challenges as:
- waiting and learning to be patient
- conflict management
- anxiety about cash flow
I listed my blessings as:
- time with family
- mission trip to Haiti
- family trip on Disney cruise
Like any good husband and wife team, we compared “notes” on the way home and I was surprised by two things:
- we both listed “waiting” as our first challenge
- I listed money as a challenge and she listed it as a blessing
