Nestle is voluntarily recalling all of their refrigerated cookie dough products. If you have any of these, according to their site, you are to take them back to the grocer for a full refund. There is a number at Nestle you can call for more information: 1-800-559-5025, if you have any questions.
Nestlé USA’s Baking Division is initiating a voluntary recall of Nestlé® TOLL HOUSE® refrigerated cookie dough products. Nestlé is taking this action out of an abundance of caution after being notified that the Food and Drug Administration, together with the Centers for Disease Control, are conducting an investigation into reported E. coli 0157:H7 illnesses that may be related to consumption of raw cookie dough.
Go here to read the full press release. Note that right now no illnesses have been directly linked to these items, this is just cautionary.
Note: Raw cookie dough should not be eaten. (Now, I said it shouldn’t, I didn’t say I don’t eat it 🙂 )
Thanks for posting. These were on sale at Publix a few weeks ago and I stockpiled. Deciding whether or not to return them could be the toughest part of my week (after all, who wants to part with cookie dough)!
I agree, and I had a thought about mine today. Why couldn’t we swap them for the Pillsbury equivalents at Publix? Normally with a recall, they don’t require a receipt, so I was thinking I could exchange out retail for retail and it should be about the same?
