I keep my coupons in regular legal size envelopes labeled and then carry them around in a gallon ziploc bag. Pretty primitive but it works!

My favorite coupon method is stacking manufacturer and store coupons with other store discounts/rebates. I have learned to do this from reading your blog and you have saved my family so much money in the past few months.

I struggle to find a system that works for me. I’ve tried cutting them all each week. I’ve tried cutting them as I need them. I think I’m going to try cutting 1 set and filing the other set for stockpiling trips.

I recently began using the binder method. So far – so good. I have learned I need to keep current with clipping my coupons. I found myself spending 2 hours on Sunday clipping and sorting – had not done so since last Sunday. I have friends and family who save me their coupons as well. I would love to win this binder and give to my daughter as a wedding gift!

I really haven’t found a “good” way to organize. I currently use envelopes and have all my coupons separated out, but I’m always trying to figure out a “better” way.

I am fairly new to couponing so I don’t have a favorite method. I’m currently using small expanding folders. I have one for grocery items and one for non-grocery items because one wasn’t big enough.

I currently use a binder that I put together myself w/ trading card inserts. Pros: Easy to see coupons and exp dates. Cons: VERY, VERY time consuming … and I’m not really thrilled about the attention it draws in the grocery store. It makes me feel like a crazy coupon lady. Oh well. I guess I am!

I save the entire insert into clear sheet protectors in a large binder according to date. Mine is getting a bit worn though so I could really use a new one. I do this so it’s easier to find when the site says 1/23 SS. I then carry my clipped coupons in a small carrier.

I find the best way to organize is with my binder and I also have an accordion style that I use for clothing store coupons or Micheal’s and even restaurant coupons. I am on a tight budget so the binder is GREAT. It’s only me and my Fiance so I don’t actually use every little divider I customized it more to how we shop. I also put dividers with pockets to hold my longer or over sized coupons. Putting the coupons in the binder is the most tedious task but it’s well worth it when you look back over the month and only spent $100 on groceries when you used to pay that ever week or more!!!! I <3 COUPONS!!!!

My fav. coupon method is to NOT clip. I file my Sunday paper inserts and only clip coupons that DON’T come from the Sunday paper, but that I use frequently. When it comes time to shop, I use facebook posts from blogs I follow, like Faithful Provisions t0 find coupon/sale matchups. Then I focus on the items that WEREN’T part of the matchups that I need (toilet paper, etc), and I use Teri’s Coupon Tracker (www.thegrocerygame.com) to find any unexpired coupons in the Sunday paper inserts or printables out there for those items. I WOULD like a binder, however to start sorting and filing those coupons for items I purchase most frequently.

I am definitely a binder person, using the leftover binders from school. It works well for a visual person like me. My kids help sort them out for me too.

I usually just cut the coupons and place them into an organization coupon wallet. But I’m running out of space and would love to try the binder method.

Sorting coupons by category. I’ve probably tried all the options (by date, by store, by category, by type {non-food vs. food}). I do keep eateries and specialty stores in a separate spot from the ones mentioned above.

I prefer the coupon binder/baseball card holder method, but I find I don’t have that much time to cut out coupons every week. So I have most of my coupons in a big hanging file folder, a smaller coupon divider for coupons I’ve cut or other loose coupons, and then a pencil box for restaurant coupons that stays in the car.

The best strategy for me so far is keeping the different coupon inserts , e.g. RP, SS, P&G, intact with the outer binding page with the date on the spine. Then I file them in a accordion binders according to month/type. I DO NOT clip until I am making my list and planning my trip while following the Faithful Provisions post for the particular store where I am headed. I previously tried clipping ALL and it was a total trainwreck of coupon conffetti not to mention tons and tons of wasted coupons and time. I felt like my time and sanity were higher priority than scoring every deal.

I also started using empty junkmail envelopes as my one-time coupon holder per grocery/drugstore trip…I write my list of what I am getting, in the order it must happen and any notes on this envelope while in planning mode. Put the clipped coupons in and I’m ready to go! If I have a 10 and 12 year old tagging along then occassionally they get an envelope of their own with a few coupons to practice what I am preaching! LOL! I am always amazed at the deals they find that easily could have slipped by me.

I’ve been working coupons today. I’d love to have a coupon container with flexibility. When I am going to a specific store, I’d like to have all that store’s coupons in one place. I’d like a separate slot for eateries. But I also like lots of dividers for the typical types of groceries!

  263. crystal February 1, 2011 at 2:10 pm

i do all three. i check the recycle bins so i’m always getting inserts. i file the inserts by date in a binder in clear report sleeves and then clip and file 5 inserts each week into the binder. i also have a purse accordion file and i’ll pull out the coupons i need for each store and file them according to store in that. then my coupon binder just goes with me in case there is a great hidden deal i would need my q’s for.

Well, I’d say may favorite way is printing coupons from various websites and using only the ones that match with my local grocery store sales. I try not to keep coupons around too long as they just seem to get disorganized, so I think a binder would be a great option!

I didn’t think I would like using a larger binder in the store as much as my wallet size coupon organizer, but it is so much easier to have everything out in the open where you can see what you are looking for rather than having to try to flip through the coupons in the organizer where they tend to stick together. I’ve been using a regular 1 1/2 inch 3 ring binder with baseball card sleeves and am running out of room, I’m going to have to upgrade to a larger binder.

I use wallet sized accordion style organizers. It takes 2 to hold all my grocery coupons. They’re sorted by the aisle in the store I shop the most. I cut out everything and sort and organize it. I really want to try the binder method, though. I think it might work for me.

I use the paper clips with the springs on them, and separate them by, meat, dairy case, cereals, baking items, frozen items, and household items….Then when Im going shopping I print out the grocery list from my grocery store that I get on your website….and put the coupons for those stores, attatched to my lists…..which in the long run saves time, and Im not constantly going through my coupon stacks….
My husband NEVER wanted to go to the grocery store with me before, but since I have saved him sooo much money, he loves watching the totals on the cash register come down, and down……he says that I perform magic, and he still eats very well….LOL
