Have you heard the buzz? It looks like Walmart might be joining the other grocery chain stores and offering double coupons! Walmart is currently testing a double coupon program in Utah. The promotion is only being offered at seven stores in Utah county and only on Tuesdays. Coupons with values of $.50 and under are being doubled. Coupons $.50 and up are being rounded up to $1.
I hope this test-market works and they expand this to the rest of the stores!
What are your thoughts? Would you shop at Walmart more if they doubled coupons?
This is great news! I hardly ever shop at Wal Mart, but would really consider it with the double coupons and if they continued to price match other competitors.
Absolutely. There are things I’ve wanted to buy with coupons there, but I held them because I knew other stores would double.
I would probably start doing most of my shopping there. The local Kroger said that they will only accept 3 internet coupons per transaction. With WalMart’s price matching and coupon policies, it is becoming the best place to coupon!
I shop at Wal-Mart already and I think that would be AWESOME. Hopefully they won’t put a limit like they do here in the southeast on the amount of coupons that you can use in a day.
I to like Wal-mart, but will hold coupons that are 50 cents or lower until I can go to a store that will double. Sure hope this goes over well and expands to all stores!
i hold off on using my coupons .50 cents and under at walmart because dont double, but i have moved to a new town where we only have a walmart for groceries and i have been having to make a 30 minute drive to the closest kroger and publix to use my coupons. but at my last visit to kroger i was VERY disappointed about their new “3 like coupons per customer card per day”. i had to leave a cart of groceries and felt so sorry for the cashier. its just too hard to plan a trip to buy groceries at kroger with the ever changing rules. i REALLY hope that walmart starts to double!! it would be great!!
I would LOVE that… especially if they eventually doubled!
This would be great! The town I live in has no stores that double coupons. I always have to shop at Wal-Mart because the grocery store is so much more expensive. And even our Wal-Mart is more expensive than in other regions because it’s the only one around for miles.
Heck yeah.. I shop there already, I price match and I bring in other store coupons to use there, but I usually tend to hold on to my coupons (unless the deal is just amazingly better than someplace else) because I know that I can have it doubled or either tripled when I shop at some of their competitors. I love this concept… I could do and save a lot more time some weeks! YAAAAHHH!!!
This would be wonderful if it were to happen in Greenville, MS!!! I shop at Walmart all the time. Awhile back our Walmart totally stopped taking internet coupons because some people abused the program. Now, just a few short months ago they started taking them again. I truly hope ours would be able to double coupons soon!
My husband and I were just talking the other day how Walmart needs to get with the program and start doubling – even if just one day a week. I would be thrilled if they doubled at our Walmart and would purchase a lot more items there rather than at Kroger.
Another reason to shop at Walmart! Thinking I might find a better value elsewhere I tend to hold coupons for doubling or stacking with a store coupon. Being a Walmart shopper, I prefer the one stop shopping. I am thrilled Walmart is currently testing a double coupon program, it’s a positive step for coupon users. Hopefully the program will go into everyday practice for all areas.
I always shop at walmart on weekends but it would make me go on weekdays to catch the deals GO WALMART try it in georgia
BARBOURSVILLE WV WALMART DOUBLES COUPONS UP TO .99 EVERYDAY
No stores here in Florida double anything so that would be great.
I think that would be ‘awesome’ IF Walmart started doubling like Kroger/ Publix etc. BUT I am pretty sure they will put a # on the items you can purchase @ one time. And while i’m on here, I just wanna make ONE statement about the new TLC show. “Extreme Couponing”. After I watched it the FIRST time, I knew our time was going to be limited as to how much longer we were going to be able to purchase 10 items @ a time & get the best deal possible. Watching some of the extreme couponers, I felt they were selfish, showing off for the show & going to cause the stores to take a 2nd look @ their coupon policies & that is EXACTLY what has happened. When I purchase 10 items @ a cost of ZERO, or .10 or .18. I do one of 2 things, I put it up on MY shelf, OR I share it w/ my son & his wife. . I don’t buy something just because I can, & I NEVER go into a store w/ the intent of emptying out their shelves, like I have watched these people do. IF you don’t need it OR use it, DONATE IT to a homeless shelter. BUT by all means STOP showing off with your hundreds of coupons & making the rest of us “sincere” couponers trying to save a few dollars “look bad”…. Please STOP this ridiculous charade…. I’d like to be able to save $$$ w/ coupons since I’ am unemployed & NEED to save $$$$. Just my thoughts !
I would shop at any grocery store that offered double coupons. Years ago markets offered double and triple coupons up to $0.99, which made it possible to get almost $2.00 to $3.00 off an item. I was recently in New York and found a market on L.I. that was doulbling coupons, I shop at Publix most of the time and I suggested that they should offer the gas points nothing has happened but a market in the next town is now offering gas points. Publix does the bogo and the extra items can be donated to the church food pantry.
