Here are a few of my morning killers — things I just shouldn’t do!
1. Hitting the Snooze Button (again and again)
I know how tempted I am to do it, but just don’t do it! Hitting snooze takes away from my precious time. Decide on a time to get up and just do it!
2. Skipping Breakfast
I wouldn’t try to drive my car 50 miles without fuel, so I am not sure why I do this one! Fuel your body for the start of your day. If I wouldn’t hit the snooze button, then I would have time for breakfast!
3. Missing Quiet Time
This is one sure fire way I start off on the wrong foot. I seriously need the constant help of the Holy Spirit, I need to be connect to Him every day. When I get up and start looking at my phone or blogging before I have had some quiet time to pray and read my Bible, my day never gets off on the right foot. My heart is usually very anxious and frazzled and my kids even notice. On days I miss my quiet time, which usually happens because I have wasted time on my phone, my daughter will gently ask me if I got my quiet time in this morning! She can tell a huge difference in my attitude when I don’t start my day off right.
4. Raising My Voice
I have the tendency to think louder will make everyone move faster. Yelling helps no one, unless they are a little hard of hearing! As soon as I start yelling to get everyone out the door, my blood pressure rises and so does everyone around me! Just don’t yell. Stay calm.
I know my mornings need a ton of work.
