Here is a post written by my friend Christina (Thanks Christina!). She has compiled a list of places to go see Christmas lights in the middle Tennessee/Nashville area. Let me know if we missed some!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s another idea some almost-free fun during the holidays- drive around and look at the Christmas lights!! I’ve been keeping a list of recommended places for the last few years, but I haven’t made it to all of them yet (maybe you will!):
  • Opryland Hotel (park at Opry Mills and walk over for free to avoid the $10 parking fee- Ms. Cheap’s tip)
  • Mural atop Cal Turner’s barn near the intersection of Franklin Road and Murray Lane, Brentwood. Across the Street, the four estate homes at the entrance of Princeton Hills are usually well lit.
  • Little Jimmy Dickens’ and neighbor’s homes on East Concord Road, just south of Concord off Franklin Road in the Brentwood Hills neighborhood.
  • BJ Christmas Light Display at Sunnyside (left) off Hillsboro Rd (South of Old Hickory)- There are signs for this, so you can’t miss it. 3-4 homes are lit up in the cul de sac and you can get out and walk and visit with Santa if he’s there. We went here last year on Christmas Eve and it was breathtaking!! This is a must do if you don’t go anywhere else!
  • Alan Jackson’s home, which is near the Sunnyside display, turn south on Hillsboro road and take a right on Moran Rd.
  • Allan and Thelma Robinson’s light display at 1123 Warrior Drive (I-65 South, right at Peytonsville Rd exit, and right on Warrior Dr.). This one was featured in the Tennessean last year.
  • George Jone’s home off Hwy 96 (east of I-65) in Franklin. I have not been there, but apparently there is a road off 96 that takes you to his property and it should be obvious.
  • The intersection of Holt Road and Redmond (Holt Road runs between Edmonson and Nolensville Pike). There are several displays along that route.
