Sorry it has been a while since I wrote an update on how the garden is doing. Since the Nashville Flood ago, I lost a bit of momentum in the garden. It washed away all our topsoil and we kinda gave up on some of it to be honest. Our lettuce pretty much fizzled.
This week I was able to harvest our first arugula (above) and made a Watermelon and Arugula Salad, which I will post the recipe for tomorrow!
Last week our green beans started coming in and I was able to make a full meal with them. Then last night we had another harvest, I am loving these green beans!
Our shallots have grown alot, those are the tall ones, loved those last year.
Our potatoes sure have come along way from when we planted them a few months ago. See that yellow blossom? We think it is a cantaloupe that died early last year. There is one growing in the middle of each potato mound.
The next garden post…how to grow mint without letting it take over your garden.

Your garden looks like mine. I had to do a doubletake cause it was just like looking at the back of my house. I have cukes and yellow squash plants that are coming up. Luckily I waited late this year–somehow must have known a natural disaster was on the way. I planted a few bush green beans but they don’t seem to be coming up and I could live on green beans. Must not have done something right. Good luck on the future of your garden.
how great is it to watch your garden grow and flourish. sorry to hear about the flood, man oh man what is going on with this crazy weather…
