This post isn’t about a deal, but I wanted to tell you about one of my favorite Christmas books ever!
In all honesty, I have struggled with how to reconcile Santa and Christmas. I love the fun in celebrating Santa with the kids, but as a Christian I struggle with how that fits into my beliefs. This book does such a great job of explaining to children (and adults!) the differences without spoiling the fun of Santa!
Here is an overview from the back cover:
As Little Cub and her family prepare to celebrate the most special day of the year, the curious young polar bear begins to wonder… “Who invented Christmas?”
Mama’s answer only leads to more questions like “Is God more important than Santa?” So she and Little Cub head off on a polar expedition to find God and to see how he gave them Christmas. Along the way, they find signs that God is at work all around them. Through Mama’s gentle guidance, Little Cub learns about the very first Christmas and discovers that… Jesus is the best present of all.

I bought this book for my children and love it!
I love this book too! My mom gave it to us last year, and we’ve read through it so many times. I’m struggling with the Santa thing too – thanks for posting this!
I will have to find this book.
check out the newest Veggie Tale movie. It reconciles Santa and Jesus. You can find a sneak peek on the internet. Matthew West wrote one of the songs.
Thank you! I ordered this from Amazon for a Christmas Eve read!:)
My Mom got this book. She LOVED it.
We love this book:

and we talk alot about the Saint who became known as Santa.
My favorite book that explains the story of Santa/St. Nicholas and his reasons for starting to give is “Santa, Are you for Real?” The kids are really encouraged to be generous and it’s more of a blessing to give than to receive.
