This week is another Mega Event, these usually run a few weeks, so you can probably bank on it running next week too. Be sure to notice the great prices on chicken, apples and pecans, humm… wonder what I could make out of those?? With the holidays coming around, take advantage of the great deals on shredded cheeses and the Pillsbury products.
With the food drives about to start in full swing, I thought I’d list a few items which are great for donations below.

I would make chicken salad! I have no exact recipe, but I boil a chicken breast or two, then chop them up. Then I mix with mayo, pecans (broken up), red grapes (quartered), salt and pepper, and a dash of celery seed. My husband really likes it. It is good just on plain ole bread, but it is even better with lettuce, and on croissants!
You may alread know this, but if your items do not ring up as they are priced in Kroger, they will give them to you for free. This happened to me this weekend with ground turkey that was supposed to be $1.99. It rang up as $3.49, so customer service gave my money back to me.
SLIM FAST DEAL
Also, at Walmart yesterday. I was able to get a 6 pack of slim fast shakes for $3.08. They are marked down to $4.58 and some of the packages have a $1.50 off coupon on the box!
There is also a Breast Cancer Awareness deal going on where they are reducing the prices of certain items. I found Arm and Hammer laundry liquid that was regularly $7.99 for $2.99. I don’t remember the size, but the price was the same if not less than the generics for that size.
10 item mega event deal includes bryers ice cream, texas toast, TGIFridays frozen foods/snacks, Freschetta pizzas to name a few more
Melrae, I also love to add tarragon and a little garlic salt to my chicken salad if I omit the grapes, and toasting the pecans makes it super yummy!
