Children’s Favorite Bible Stories (Thomas Nelson Publishers) has become hands down my favorite family Bible story book. We have had enjoyed reading this so much. My kids want me to read it to them, and they will go over and pick it up to look at for themselves every day. The illustrations are incredible. One of the things I really love about this book is that it is not illustrated in a “cartoon-ish” style, but it is done with beautiful drawings that are accurate depictions of the people, places, and scenes of Bible times.
This book is a great tool that can easily be used a couple of ways:
- Children who are already reading can use it for personal study.
- Families can use it together for family devotional times.
It’s suggested for ages 6-12, and I’m loving it for the whole family. The writers have included fun suggestions with each Bible story (the Bible stories are told using actual Bible text) for digging deeper into Scripture, along with a Quote of the Day (you know I love that!), suggested prayer starters, and other activities that families can do together to bring home the point of the story.
