My husband made a few comments about my helping him get the garage organized in a recent post on his blog, and since then, I thought it would be fun to share one of my favorite organizing tips with you. (Hidden agenda: I’d love for you to share your best tips with me!)
My number one tool for organizing is my label maker. Sure, I can get masking tape and a Sharpie and label everything by hand, but the label maker makes it so neat, and that motivates me! As I’ve said many times, I’m really motivated by work and accomplishment, and seeing everything crisply printed on clean white labels just says, “Good job!” to me.
Summer is a great time to get organized, and right now, the upgraded, newest model of the Brother Home and Office Labeler is on sale for just $17.99 at Amazon–a 55% savings!
WARNING: It’s easy to go wild with a labeler! No worries, thought–just use your rewards at Staples or Office Depot to stock up on cartridges. That’s how I save and fuel my label-making passion! You can also buy tape cartridges in bulk on Amazon.
Besides using the label maker on storage bins for organizing, I’ll use it on my jars in the pantry, for nuts, pasta, spices, and more. I try to get specific with my labels, while still keeping it brief, for example: Kelly’s Craft supplies, First Grade Math Books, Writing Resources, Girls Clothes 4T, Whole Oregano.
I sure could have used a holster for my labeler when we were moving. I was whipping it out and using it constantly!
