My Publix Trip

on July 3, 2011 · 5 Comments

My-Publix-Trip-July-3This afternoon I did all my weekly grocery planning and made a quick trip into Publix for a few deals. I had to go anyways, because I needed bacon for my Northern Beans and Collard Greens dishes, so since I was there I made the most of my time! I am hoping to get my Collard Greens recipe posted some time this week, but the Fish Tacos with Lime Crema will be up tomorrow.

Unfortunately, they were out of a few things I wanted that were going to be free, so I will be trying to get back with my rain check next week. Since they were out of the Nature’s Own Sandwich Rounds, they allowed me to substitute the Arnold’s version for the same price. Also, trying that big light green avocado, but I am not holding out hopes for it.  It is a “lite” avocado, doesn’t sound real appealing to me, but I thought I’d give it a whirl for $1.50. My final total was $25.98.

Find all this week’s Publix Deals here, from my trip below with coupon matches.

Arnold’s Wheat Sandwich Rounds — $1.49 (subbed since they were out of Nature’s Own)
M&M’s – Pretzel — $1.30
Applegate Farms Uncured Bacon — $3.39
Sabra Hummus — $.99
Avocado — $1.50
Del Monte Pineapples — $1.25/ea
A-1 Sauce — $1.14
Triscuits — $2.50
Gold Fish — $.45/ea

Have you made a shopping trip this week yet?  If so, share your deals below in the comments.

Didn’t have time to plan this week but still just walking into Publix without any coupons I saved $60 and spent less than $60 on food. Love the bogos and great deals at Publix! The Goldfish deal was great…

Kelly, how did you come out with that avocado? I used 2 to make guacamole and it was very “thin”, is the best way I can describe it. Still tasted good, but was different.

Yuck! It literally tasted like a watered-down avocado. Never wasting money on that again. 🙁

Glad to know it wasn’t just all in my head!

I have just recently discovered the Applegate Farms brand. Is this bacon with all the other bacon at the store? and do you like it?
