I was tickled while doing a craft with my daughter yesterday. The project was to find things that God-Made versus Man-Made things. Checkout the middle image on the Man-Made side. Anything look familiar? I wanted to fall on the floor laughing when I saw that she decided to pick a coupon to put on her craft project. We did discuss that while coupons are man-made, they are definitely a blessing from God!
Never underestimate the impact that you have on your children. Little people are very watchful and perceptive. Case in point.
I know what you mean, I have a 3 year old daughter and the other day she was asking for something in the store and I told her “no”- she looked at me with a serious expression and said “we don’t have a coopon for it?” I about busted out laughing that she had picked up on Mommy’s need to save money!! (by the way, that was not a mis-spelling on coupon- that’s just how she says the word 🙂 )
The other day my family was at Target and my husband was looking at a clearance shelf (I have taught him well) and my 4 year old looked at him and said “Daddy, no coupon, no buy” Gotta love it. My husband looked at me and told me that even though he liked saving money maybe we were starting to go to far with it.
My kids play “coupon.” They take my old coupons and play with them. My son who is 5 will look at the store adds and point out the prices. It is too funny!
Love it! That is so sweet. I have my kids in on the act also. Anytime they see a coupon for anything they think they need to nab it.
