Dear Kelly,
I have been waiting to purchase new cushions for my tired old patio/porch furniture for several years. Since I’ve been following your blog, I can’t bear to pay full price for anything! But when the clearance sales roll around, I never seem to have the cash on hand. So, I’ve been waiting to make this purchase. This season, I had the cash available, so I started looking at patio cushions a couple of weeks ago. I found some I liked at Lowe’s, and they had been marked down to half-price, from $30 to $15. I almost bought them, but I thought, “Kelly would wait.” (LOL)
My husband and I went out to Lowe’s just this past Saturday, and there were the cushions I wanted, still priced at $15. So, figuring they must be as low as they would go, I picked them up and headed to checkout. However, as the clerk began scanning them, they rang up at $7.50 each! All the patio cushions and furniture were marked down to half of the already half-off price–unbelievable! What would have cost me $180 (if I had purchased six new cushions at the beginning of summer) cost me only $45…just because I waited. You’re right, Kelly–patience pays off! Thanks for all you do! (Hope you like the photo!)
I talk a lot about patience, mostly because I am a person who struggles with it. I had to learn to wait when it came to making purchases, for everything from buying groceries to buying a car. Waiting isn’t fun, but when the waiting is over, the celebration begins! Enjoy your new purchase, K. F.!
What about you? Have you made any great money-saving purchases that were worth waiting for? I’d love to hear about it.

I try to buy most all my daughter (who’s 2)’s clothing at end of season clearance. I have been able to stock her up for the next couple years, only needing to buy a few things at the next clearance! 🙂
I cruise Lowes and Home Depot occasionally during end of season time. Recently I found really nice, outdoor, patio, weather clocks marked down from $25 to $6.37. I bought 5 and will use them as holiday gifts for my garden friends.
