For those of you who don’t know, I was fortunate to be able to attend Proverb’s 31 She Speaks Conference thanks to my sweet husband. To say that this weekend was a lifechanging experience was an understatement. To be at an event with over 600 other women who deeply love the Lord was so encouraging and uplifting.
To give you a little background information, the last few months have been a whirlwind for us. This amazing ministry God has blessed us with has grown exponentially and at times I feel like we are barely keeping up! My travel schedule these past two weeks has allowed me little rest and a first-ever lengthy stay away from my children. So, with all that said, I will proceed with the rest of the story.
On Sunday morning, the last day of the conference, I was running ahead of schedule and for the first time the whole trip had a chance to visit the prayer room. Despite a late night, I felt God’s tug to get up early, pack and head down to the prayer room before the day began – I was worn out. What I found there waiting for me was wonderful. In the room, all the names of God were laid out on the tables, with each attendees name placed on one. On the name Shalom – Peace was my name. I just love how God meets us where we are, where our need is. The verse below in Numbers was listed by the name.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
~ Numbers 6:24-26
If that wasn’t enough, I made my way into the conference center where we would have our morning worship service. I was met by the image you see above. As the service went on, we were all instructed to go to the cross and pick up a verse. If you look closely you can see, there are hundreds of verses laying at the foot of the cross. I can’t begin to tell you what a sight it was to see 600 women lining up in front of this beautiful cross, waiting for their turn.
My verse I picked up was…
This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Isreal, says “In repentence and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength…” ~ Isaiah 30:15
Again, God sending me a message of peace and rest. What I learned this weekend was that I need to let him carry the burden. All I need to do is trust and not doubt Him, He will do the rest.
Kelly,
Thank you for sharing. I’m so glad you were able to include the picture of the cross… the centerpiece of the weekend.
Have a great day
Lisa

THANK YOU FOR SHARING. GOD IS GOOD.
Kelly,
God has kept me awake tonight. I have been waging some serious spiritual warfare the past 2-3 weeks. I hear God speaking these words in Isaiah directly to me. There are heart issues I know I need to repent of, and I am just so emotionally and physically weary. So, to hear that I will find salvation and strength when I repent and rest is so encouraging to me at this late hour. Thank you!
Kelly-thank you so much for this amazing ministry that you provide-and thank you most of all for keeping it honest and spiritually based. I check out lots of these sights, but I always come here first because I know that God has ordained this ministry for you and that you are obediantly following Him and that He is and will continue to bless you abudantly through your sacrifice of time for Him. This verse in Isaiah is also blessing me immensely today, as a very dear friend is battling a struggling marriage and through our constant prayer vigil for them, I have experienced tremendous spiritual warfare on their behalf as well. Thank you dear sister for your faithfulness and willingness to serve Him in this way!
Hi there,
This is my first visit to your blog but girl, I will be back. What a blessing you are!! I love the photos of the crosses from Sunday morning. I came to the room from back stage so I didn’t see how beautiful the lighting was on the Crosses. I love the name of God that was placed under yours – His peace is your resting place. I also love that you said, “He will do the rest.” I pray that even in the midst of such a blessed and busy speaking schedule, your heart will find a place to rest in His presence and plans.
Sweet blessings,
Renee
