Target Security Breach
If you did any shopping in-store at Target between November 27th and December 15th, your credit and/or debit card information may have been breached & you’ll want to check your bank or credit card statements very close. It has been reported that unauthorized access to Target’s payment card data during that time may have affected 40 million credit and debit cardholders.
The unauthorized access may impact guests who made credit or debit card purchases in our U.S. stores from Nov. 27 to Dec. 15, 2013. We have determined that the information involved in this incident included customer name, credit or debit card number, and the card’s expiration date and CVV. Those who suspect there has been unauthorized activity on their cards should report it to their credit card companies and call Target at 866-852-8680. Cases of identity theft can also be reported to law enforcement or the Federal Trade Commission.
Keep in mind that this breach only happened in-stores and did not affect any online purchases. You can read more about the Target Security Breach here and how it may have affected you.
