Teaching Kids about Easter

I was really impressed with this Focus on the Family broadcast on teaching kids about Easter. Phil Vischer, the creator of VeggieTales and What’s in the Bible?, is the guest on the program, and he does a great job of explaining the meaning of Easter. He unpacks our celebration of Easter culturally, in relation to all the elements that we celebrate with (the Easter bunny, colored eggs, Easter egg hunts), and how all those different symbols started as ways to teach people the true, biblical story of Easter and Christ’s resurrection.

Phil Vischer is really good at bringing complicated subjects down to an understandable level for children of all ages–moms and dads too! After listening to this broadcast, I felt like I had a really good grasp on how and why we have all these different symbols of Easter. It’s very informative–and presented in an easy-to-listen-to, entertaining way.
