i’m wondering if this is legitimate….b/c when i went to try to register to get the sunday paper for $1 a week….I filled out all the blanks and when i got to the bottom where it asks you to type in the ‘code’ in the box it wouldn’t accept what I typed….I changed the ‘code’ many times to make sure i was reading it correctly and it never would work….did anyone else have this problem?

Susannah – I believe this is legitimate, I ordered mine and it didn’t ask me for a code, make sure you ordered the right thing. It told me they would be contacting me. I hope this helps!

kelly, it wasn’t a promo code it was the little ‘encrypted thing at the bottom that you have to type in so they don’t get spam i guess….did you get that?

Can you get the $1 deal if you are already a subscriber?

I used the link and it worked fine for me. It says that the offer is for new customers only. Yes, the sunday paper has ads and coupons in it. : )

I think this $1 offer for the Sunday paper has expired. I too filled out the form but recieved no confirmation just a ‘your request has been submitted”. When I called customer service, she said if I did not submit any credit card info and it wasn’t asked then the subscription processed correctly.

Then she said she would be happy to process it for me but i needed the promo code to receive the $1 price. I can’t find a promo code anywhere online.

I just called and was still able to use the M-HY promo code for 3 copies a week Sunday only. The cost is 13.05 a month and they bill every 3 months for 39.15. The offer is only good for 1 year then it expires and jumps tho the normal paper rate.

I don’t think this is valid anymore 🙁 You now need a special offer code! Any hints?

Greta & Sarah, Have you received your paper yet? I signed up for this deal a few weeks ago & have not received my Sunday paper yet. Each Sunday I have contacted the delivery department & they apologize for not delivering the paper and credit my account back a $1. The neighbor a few houses down from me receives her paper…makes me wonder if the newspaper would be loosing money on my $1 delivery so they refuse to deliver?? Weird!

Apparently, this deal is still valid! Beats the $11.95 normally charged for the Fri., Sat. & Sat. current price. Enjoy!

I did end up having to call in to verify that the request was received. Shortly after speaking with the rep I received the following email:

To begin enjoying the many benefits of the newspaper immediately, we have attached a link to the e-Edition, which is the electronic edition of the printed newspaper. E-edition subscribers will automatically be e-mailed an e-Edition link each morning for easy access.

Your regular payment of $19.56 will be automatically deducted from your account on the 1st every 3 months, unless The Tennessean is otherwise notified of any changes. After the promotional period ends, your rate will be every 1 Month for $6.52. If at any time you decide to cancel your subscription, you may contact us at 1-800-342-8237 and the full amount of any balance over $2.00 will be returned.
