In an effort to make planning your Thanksgiving meal much easier, I am going to be posting different deals I find and articles that might help you out throughout the week.
Wondering how big of a turkey to purchase? Here are a few tips to help you purchase your turkey this year.
- 1 to 1.3 lbs per person, if you want leftovers
- 1/2 to 3/4 for turkey breast only (not a whole bird)
- the larger the bird, the higher the proportion of meat to bone
- save the carcas and leftovers to make Turkey and Wild Rice Soup (posted next week!)
Where can you get a good deal on a turkey?
Everyone has put their turkey’s on sale this week, so I would snag them now before they are gone. The price will definitely go up next week!
