Update: Walgreens Huggies Deal

on March 10, 2009 · 0 Comments

There have been lots of reports of people not getting their $10 Register Reward from this weeks Huggies deal at Walgreens.

I found this comment posted on Money Saving Mom that might clear up some things for everyone.  I would love to hear how your transaction went!

I just called Walgreen’s to a friend who works there. Here is what she told me:

You can’t roll a register reward into a transaction that will print out a register reward. Here is what I plan to do, and she says it will work!

Buy 3 Huggies at 10.00/ea.
Use 3 3/1 coupons
Pay 21.00 out of pocket

I will do that twice for a total of 42.00 out of pocket, then I will have two $10 register rewards, and you can’t use both on one transaction, so I will have them ring up 2 more packs separately, and get them each free.

I will have spent $42 out of pocket for 8 packs of Huggies! Not bad!

I bought 3 packs on Sunday and used 3 – $5/1 coupons. I got back my $10 RR no problem. I went back yesterday to get 3 more, but both of the Bellevue Walgreens are sold out of his size (3) and the next size up. Apparantly, word is out on this deal! I will try back to see if they get more, or maybe just go up yet another size.

Just got back from the Walgreens in Belle Meade. Bought 3 packs of diapers (size 1’s) used 3 $5/1 coupons. OOP was $17.78. including tax. Got my $10 RR. Went back and got 6 packs of Huggies wipes and used 3 $5/1 and 3 $3/1 coupons and my RR. The cashier said my RR exceeded my amount so I had to buy twp candy bars for a dollar ( I was in a hurry and it was the closest thing.) My total OOP pocket for wipes was $6.42!

you can use the $5 coupon instead of the $3 coupon. The coupon seems to work on both products but bring the $3 coupon just in case your store have a problem. I used the $5 coupon this morning and had no problems.

You can also use the coupons at Target. I just bought a Huggies body and hair wash for $3.24 and used the $3 coupon and paid .24. Yippie. I am sooo in love with this Huggies deal.

I just did the deal twice! I used one $10 to do the Conagra deal to get $5 rebate, and I used the other to do the Energizer battery deal – buy 2 get $10.

I am new to this…thanks Kelly for all the great tips and links! I had 2 transactions: #1 3xHuggies diapers. I used 3x$5off. I also got 4 fructis products for free and sambucol with overage. I paid $13.04 oop plus got $10RR. #2 5xHuggies wipes. I used 1x$5off and 4x$3off. Paid $5.78 oop and got another $10RR. It didn’t matter whether I got “natural fit” or “gentle care”, the coupons worked for any kind. Woo-hoo!

I tried Huggies deal yesterday and ran into a cashier who wasn’t very friendly. I tried to purchase “Natural Fit” diapers with my $5 off cpns that say for “Gentle Fit.” First 5-digits of Bar codes on coupon matched up with 1st 5 on product (both varieties: gentle fit & natural fit). Because coupon says “purchase gentle fit” only, cashier would not let me buy the natural fit w/ those coupons. Do I have a “barcodes match” argument here or is this something stores do not have to honor? I.E. does barcode trump what coupon says or vice versa? I hate that sometimes great deals are problematic if you get a cashier in a bad mood!

i did the huggies deal with the glade deal from southern savers and it worked great paid $6.44 with tax (which was $6) and got my $10 RR which I was able to use to buy the 4 cokes for $13 and it printed out the $3 RR without a problem which I used to get milk. i was at the belle meade walgreens and had no problems and they were very friendly.

Pat – They are rewards you use on future purchases. You get them during the transaction with your receipt.
