In an effort to keep my self on track this year for my $40 weekly or $160 monthly budget , I am going to make myself accountable and start posting how I did the week before. I didn’t start out well…
Week of January 4th:
Okay, I totally busted it this week, so the next few weeks I will have much less to work with.
- Publix: $10.41
- Kroger: $22.59
- Costco: $36.94
- Aldi: $15.21
- Total: $85.23
- Budget Left for January: $ 74.77
Here are a few kid-friendly activities we did on the cheap…
- Redbox: used free codes to rent 2 kid movies; Ratatouille & Diego Bugs!
- YMCA: My husband took her Saturday morning on a “date” to the indoor pool, she LOVED it!
How did you do? Whether or not you posted your purchases for the week, please take a moment to post about your shopping week. Then, come back here and leave your link below. If you donโt have a blog or would rather share anonymously, feel free to leave your ideas in a comment.
Does the $40 a week include diapers and wipes too?
Answer to Liesl – Yes, that does include diapers and wipes. For this week I will be getting my diapers/wipes free at Rite-Aid. They have 2-$25 gift card options for transferred prescriptions. And they have a great deal there, so nothing out of pocket!!
So you shop at multiple stores every week? How do you go about that…all in one big shopping day, spread out over a few days? I have to be honest, I don’t even love going to one store per week (maybe a second for a great deal) with our 3 kids in tow!
Jennifer,
No, I do not go to multiple stores every week. When I had one child I did, I had a lot more time and energy! Now, I usually just hit Publix, sometimes if a REALLY good week I’ll go to Kroger. I go to Publix on Sunday nights when my hubby has kids and I do Kroger as a fun day, but I only have 2 kids, a little easier, I’m barely outnumbered!
I hope this helps!
Okay, thanks! I can stop trying to figure out how to shop 4 stores/week. ๐ Good call to shop alone. ๐
