Weekly Wrap-Up: November 7

on November 7, 2009 · 0 Comments

Okay, can I say “I Love Triples!!”. I am so happy that Krogers decided to match Harris Teeter triples and even better they brought it down to my area.  I did better this week than I have ever done. My total for the week out of pocket was only $17.69 (which included my early Publix trip) and I got over $313 worth of groceries, that is 94% savings. Well, that frees up my budget for the end of the month.

The biggest win from this is that I have tons to give as donations. Many of the sale items were great for food pantry donations. Just to show you, here is a pic of my receipt.

What is Weekly Wrap-Up?

Weekly Wrap-Up is a post I do every Saturday to show you what I got this week for $40 for my family of four. My $40 a week budget includes all food, toiletries and cleaning supplies, it does not include eating out. (I do not include diapers and coffee in this budget, it is separate!)

Total Groceries OOP:  $17.69

What great deals did you find this week? Be sure to post your trips and include links to your blog if you took an inventory or pictures.

I totally love triples! I’ve posted a picture showing Friday’s shopping and linked to the post.

    Hi,

I love your website. I noticed on your receipt you made a trip yesterday (the 6th). Were the shelves still stocked? I would be coming from Murfreesboro, and I was afraid to drive all the way to a triples store only to find out everything was gone. Thanks for all your great couponing tips!

So, I have a question! Do you have to print out one coupon per item that you buy? Ex: All the chex mix you bought, did you have to print out a coupon for each bag? Sorry, new to the whole coupon thing!

    Tricia-
I live in Murfreesboro also and when Krogers does Triples, I go to the one on Edmondson Pike/Nippers Corner. The last time I went early Saturday morning (8-9am) and their shelves where loaded since they re-stocked the night before. From other persons I talk to during the Triples, it seems that the stores closer to Franklin run out quicker. Just FYI…

Please tell me which Kroger you go to. Mine isn’t doing triples and I want to see if it would be worth the drive? I am in Murfreesboro.

It is the one on the corner of Edmondson Pike/Old Hickory Pike in the Nippers Corner area. From M’boro, go to Nashville and get off at Bell Road. Keep straight-you will pass Nolensville Road. You will see Krogers by Jack in the Box and Shell Gas Station on your left. I hope this helps-it is WELL worth going with the Triples and Mega Deals today!

Is there a Kroger that doesn’t limit 20 coupons per visit?

How did you get the ground beef chubs?

Tracy – The Kroger stores that participate in triples allow 20 coupons per TRANSACTION – not per day like HT does (their computers don’t triple after that). However, they allow you to do multiple transactions back-to-back. Example: If you have 40 coupons that will triple, you can split it into a transaction of 20 & 20.

The Kroger on Franklin Rd in Brentwood is generally hit harder by the couponers & items tend to be out of stock. BUT, they DO issue rainchecks!! They give you the sale price PLUS the triple coupon on the raincheck! I got several rainchecks for items in the Mega Event that were out of stock.

Here is a link to Kelly’s older post on the stores that generally participate in triples: http://www.faithfulprovisions.com/2009/08/12/kroger-triples-week/

I am also wondering how you got the ground beef chubs? What coupon matchups?

    Ang & Rebecca – Go to http://www.dinnern20.com/pages/RegPage.html
and play for your chance to get a burger timer or .50/1 beef coupon. You can play up to five times per day. Use code A23568 to play.

This coupon states “ANY beef”, and if your store doubles, it makes this $1/1 beef. During triples, it makes it $1.50/1 beef. The Ground Chuck was on sale for $1.98/chub making it $.48!!

I am just getting into the couponing craze. Since Krogers in Dickson (where I live) does not triple coupon so I will be shopping at the one in Bellevue.

Question regarding the beef coupon. Has anyone used it and actually had their coupon tripled? Someone told me they will not triple store coupons.

Tricie – that’s correct that they don’t triple store coupons (only manufacturer coupons). However, the beef coupon is a MANUFACTURER coupon. When you play the game, it asks you which store you purchased your beef at. If you select Kroger, it will put a Kroger logo on the coupon. If you select “other” it will not put any logo on it.

This coupon tripled for me just fine. I have also used it at Publix without any problems (except it was doubled).
