I am sure this is a dumb ? but if you want to freeze these do you cook them ahead of time or not?
If you can, fully cook it. Just wrap in wax paper and slip into a freezer bag. Otherwise, you can just freeze the egg mixture separately and then thaw and pour into a pie shell when you want to cook it!
Not a dumb question at all! I usually cook them ahead , under cook them a little then freeze. Or you can keep the egg base separate. but if you are going to pour it into the pie crust you need to cook it first.
