Today is Good Friday, and we are moving. It seems so poetic to me that God chose this day. It wasn’t the move date we planned. In fact, I fought to make our move date yesterday. But God in His Sovereignty, wisdom, and power made it today. And now I get it. I know why.
- Today we “die” to our old life and home, in order to create a new home and memories.
- Today we start fresh.
- Today we have the opportunity to begin with a clean slate.
- Today I step into a new journey that God alone will lead.
This day, Good Friday, is extra special and so meaningful because we get to celebrate “new” life, on every level, with the Lord. We get to begin a “new” life in a “new” home. He has given my family a physical example we can grasp and understand, a finite version, an inkling so we can have a morsel of knowledge of what He did for us on the cross.
I am really excited for this new start, this life that will begin (and end) with the Holy Spirit leading us every step of the way. We commit to following God on this new journey of life, faith, and obedience–knowing that His Plan far exceeds any I could ask for or even imagine.
Thank you Lord for today.
Thank you for a new start.
Thank you for your promises.
Thank you for loving me despite myself.
Thank you for life eternal with you.
I’m praying for all my readers to have a wonderful Easter weekend. You can learn more about what Good Friday means HERE, and discover why Christians call the day Jesus was crucified “good.”
Thank you for sharing this spiritual journey and perspective on what may usually be seen as a difficult time for a family. You are so right. God is the Author of our lives and His plan is so right for us. May you and your family enjoy this new chapter.
