Ziplist iPhone App and Blue Avocado Starter Kit Giveaway

on May 4, 2010 · 54 Comments

I have been looking for a good iPhone app for the grocery store to do my meal planning and shopping, but most of the ones out there have a charge. I found one that is FREE, called Ziplist.

The I heard about Ziplist. As soon as I checked out this incredible FREE meal planning, recipe, and shopping tool I loved it. I was very excited to learn that they launched an iPhone application last week. This means your meal plans, recipes, and shopping tools can go with you to the store on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Yippie!

You can set your preferred stores, configure the aisles, and even take pictures of bar-codes (if you have 3GS) with your phone to create your list! How great is that? Plus, if you are like me, I always have my phone on me, so I always have my shopping list!

Here is what the FREE Ziplist iPhone app does:

  • Add items to your shopping list using your iPhone, or online at Ziplist.com, by text message, email or by IM.
  • Use your iPhone to scan or key in product barcodes to add items to your list. Plus, unlike other shopping lists, the ZipList app auto-completes product barcodes as you key them in, saving keystrokes (& time!).
  • ZipList auto-categorizes items as they are added to the shopping list (e.g., dairy, frozen foods, etc.). You can also set and filter grocery items by level of importance or by grocery store.
  • Synchronize your shopping list not only with other iPhone users, but also with users of other mobile devices (e.g., Android, Blackberry, etc.), plus with online users. No other online shopping list app can do this either. This feature is perfect for mom to send the list to dad so he can pick up a few items on the way home from work, or vice versa!

Of all the things Ziplist does, the Recipe Clipper is my favorite. It takes any recipe I find online and stores it so I never lose it.  Plus, I can click one button and it adds all the recipes ingredients to my shopping list!

Ziplist is partnering with Blue Avocado and is giving away 3 starter-kits to my readers.

I use printable grocery lists from different couponing websites usually. Then, I just jot my other items on the page.

Normally I copy and paste all my coupon match-ups into a notepad file. Then when I’ve got it all done I print it out to take with me to the store.
Thanks for the giveaway! I would LOVE to win this!
