When BlogFrog asked me to tell you what I like about their programs, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I’m very excited to tell you what I love about this company. I know I have a lot of bloggers and potential bloggers who read Faithful Provisions, so I’ve done this post in a Q&A format, asking myself the questions I think you’ll find most helpful in learning what BlogFrog is all about.
What is BlogFrog?
Basically, BlogFrog is an influencer marketing platform. Brands use BlogFrog to get the word out about their products through social media. BlogFrog uses a network of trusted bloggers to let their audiences know about the brands, special promotions, and new products.
How did you first connect with BlogFrog?
I was first introduced to BlogFrog when I met VP and co-founder Holly Hamann at a blogging conference. I knew I liked this company from the start. Not only were they open and approachable, but I really appreciated how knowledgeable they were about the blogging world. (In other words, I didn’t have to explain it to them!) They were intent on making their product better through feedback from the bloggers. They wanted to know how we felt and what worked for us in order to make BlogFrog work for everybody–bloggers and brands. They wanted to fit the needs of both sides. They really are working for both aspects.
Why do you choose to work with BlogFrog over another company?
In working for BlogFrog, I never feel like they consider the brand more important than the blogger, or vice versa. I honestly feel that they have the best interest of both sides at heart. Also, I choose to work with them because they work with brands that I am interested in representing. And I appreciate the fact that offer a generous compensation model. They understand that as blogger, I need to be treated fairly for what my platform is worth and all the time I have spent in building it.
How do you choose which brand programs to accept or decline?
For me, it all has to do with my mission statement. I consider first if it is a brand that I personally would want to hear more about. Usually if I am interested in something, so are my readers. I also ask myself if I can blog about it truthfully to my readers. Does it fit with my values and my vision? For instance, when they asked me to do a sponsored post for Horizon, I was excited about it on several levels. Not only do I purchase Horizon products, but this particular post included making my readers aware of the value of adding omega wast wasn’t just about the brands, but also the awareness of the value of Omega-3 to their family’s diet. Not only did they equip me with great information to educate myself and share with my readers, but I was paid fairly to do it.
What if you choose to decline a brand program?
One of the things I have learned over the years is that I have to be careful with what I promote because God has given me a platform in Faithful Provisions. I have to be sure that what I am writing about is truly going to be valuable to my readers. I don’t want to just do a sponsored post for the monetary value. It has to be something I can be proud to have on my blog.
There have been several times that I have actually passed on certain programs because the brands didn’t line up with my mission here on Faithful Provisions. I wasn’t penalized or black-listed because of it. BlogFrog has a great network of bloggers who respect them. They pay well, they pay on time, and that is the kind of thing that you want. Plus, they do their best to pick the right bloggers for the right projects. And I’m glad to be one of them. There is respect on both sides, and to me, that is what lies at the heart of good business.
