One of my favorite things to do with my kids is read. I love to read, and I love to read aloud to them. Something I really am enjoying as a mom is sharing the books I loved growing up with my kids today, and one of the timeless classics that they love as much as I did is Alice in Wonderland. Alicewinks has taken this children’s story and put it in a format that is very much today–and your kids are going to love it!
Alicewinks offers today’s generation all the 19th century fantasy, paired with 20th century imagery, and laced with 21st century technology.
Here are just a few things we love about the new ibook, Alicewinks :
Incredible Animated Illustrations. If you have a copy of Alice in Wonderland, then you get the illustrations that were done for that copy, right? But with Alicewinks, you’ll see 193 original illustrations from twelve early 20th century artists. This makes for a much richer experience! Ask your kids questions about the illustrations as you go through. They will see things you don’t, and you’ll be able to point out things to them as well.
New Perspectives. Talking about how this story is one that their parents and their grandparents and even their great grandparents enjoyed has really made my kids see a bigger picture. Knowing that lots of people over the centuries have written and drawn about it made my kids want to do the same thing.
Voices! The actors doing the narration for the story are top shelf. They brought the story to life as much as anything else.
DID YOU KNOW? In May of 2013, Alicewinks was awarded the prestigious Kirkus Star, reserved for books of “exceptional merit.”
This totally interactive book was not just a story–it was an experience–one we will re-visit time after time. Here’s my one word of caution: When you read Alicewinks with your kids, start well before bedtime. Neither they nor you will want to stop at just a few chapters!
In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Alice’s Adventure’s in Wonderland, Alicewinks brings the story’s classic illustrations to life for digital audiences through animated video and rich narration. To download this one of a kind iBook, visit iTunes.com/alicewinks
