My husband most enjoys funny Father’s Day cards over a serious one. Especially one that comes from our children. He has a dry sense of humor, so the things our kids say fit right in line with that!
When I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for, I would rather just make it. The kids are never short on creativity, and I think most people appreciate the thought that goes into making a Father’s Day card. It’s just that humor part that somehow eludes me… so… how about some of these funny sayings for a Dad’s Day card you can make with the kids?
Front of card: Some dads are able to relate everything to a sports analogy…
Inside of card: “Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then, fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher’s mound. Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start all over again.” ~Jimmy Piersal, on How to Diaper a Baby
Front of card: Dad, you’re always able to see the positive side in every situation.
Inside of card: “If the new American father feels bewildered and even defeated, let him take comfort from the fact that whatever he does in any fathering situation has a fifty percent chance of being right.” ~Bill Cosby
Front of card: Dad always knows just what to say…
Inside of card: “When Charles first saw our child Mary, he said all the proper things for a new father. He looked upon the poor little red thing and blurted, “She’s more beautiful than the Brooklyn Bridge.” ~Helen Hayes
