I just wanted to send you guys a heads up if you decide to hit KFC. They are not currently honoring the coupon due to overwhelming demand. I guess I am surprised they didn’t think it would be overwhelming on Oprah and a FREE meal!
I have to say, they would have been better off not offering the coupon, than offering it then pulling it. It was quite frustrating to walk in with the kids hungry and on our way somewhere else, only to find they weren’t honoring the coupons.
Here is the letter posted on the door:

Due to the overwhelming demand for our FREE Kentucky Grilled Chicken mela, we’re unable to offer it to you today. Rest assured that we will honor our commitment to giving you a free meal and we hope you’ll accept this rain check with our sincerest apologies!
Please fill out this form, attach your coupon, and we’ll send you a coupon for your free meal at a later date, plus a free Pepsi with our compliments.

We used our coupons last night. After waiting 30 minutes for the meal, we got 2 tiny wings with little meat on the bones. The potatoes were cold and the coleslaw was more watery dressing than cabbage! I’m not complaining b/c it was FREE! But, just thought I would reassure you that you didn’t miss out on much…. and the fried chicken is WAY better!
Where is the form to fill out for the free chicken

I agree with you totally! What did they expect? Did you go to the one in Cool Springs with the AW? I was thinking I’d take that drink coupon you posted to the AW and pick up the KFC form while I was there so that I could mail in my KFC coupon for rain check.
Or did you fill out the form and leave it at the KFC? Hmmm.
I saw a story on channel 2- some locations are still honoring the coupon, just limiting the hours to 1-5p.m.
come on..they were allowing 4 coupons per computer to be printed what did they thing would happen…plus it was on Oprah. Umm..hello don’t they know what her book club did to books – instant best sellers. I think they knew there would be a demand..get all this advertising and then knew they would yank it.
