The average American consumes just three servings of fruits and vegetables a day – less than half the daily recommended servings. The latest dietary requirements call for closer to 12 a day for the average person and even more if you are a fitness enthusiast.
There are a multitude of reasons for this significant gap including taste preferences, texture preferences, cost, access and more. Whatever the reason, most of us could use a fruit and veggie boost. My husband used to say, “I wish they could make vegetables taste like pizza or just put them in a pill.” He got his wish. It’s called Juice Plus and, in my opinion, it’s not a replacement for fruits and vegetables, but it is the next best thing – at least for my picky eaters. Here’s why:
- Seventeen fruits, vegetables and whole grains in capsule or chewable form.
- It’s not a vitamin or supplement; it’s actually fresh, high-quality fruits and vegetables that have been juiced and then concentrated into powders using a drying process that maintains specific temperatures to preserve the nutrient quality.
- It has been the subject of 16 independent research studies examining its impact on health and wellness.
- It delivers phytonutrients that are absorbed by the body and help protect DNA.
- Our chiropractor and our regular physician both recommend it and use it.
- It doesn’t replace the need for my family to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, but it does take some of the pressure off when they’re being picky.
I consider myself a pretty healthy eater and I personally love most fruits and vegetables, but I’m taking Juice Plus along with the rest of my family. Despite my best efforts, I still find it hard to regularly eat the recommended servings – let’s face it – it’s a lot! Juice Plus helps me bridge the gap and that’s important to me because diets rich in fruits and vegetables can lower our risk of heart disease (the number one killer of women in America). Plus, fruits and vegetables are packed with cancer fighting agents. Different agents protect against different cancers so variety is important. Fruits and vegetables also help reduce inflammation, which can help ease aches and pains and stabilize weight.
That’s the plus side of Juice Plus. How many servings of fruits and veggies do you get a day?

From Kelly:
My family and I have been taking Juice Plus for over 3 years now, and since, have become Juice Plus Distributors. I asked Calie to do an independent review for me since she is the “Health Expert”! All opinions are hers alone and not influenced by me. We love it and highly recommend taking it, especially for little people who are picky eaters. It makes me feel so good to know that Juice Plus can fill in the gaps where I can’t.

It sounds like a great idea and product. However at almost $42 a month per person that seems pretty expensive. That would be $42 a week for a family of four. Seems like you could buy a LOT of fruits and vegetables for that.
It is an absolutely great product! My son and I have been taking it for about a year and we have never felt better! Less drs visits, less missed school and work days, more energy, better sleep, and on and on! I thought it was expensive to for several years but realizing it is around $1.39/day which is less than a cup of coffee, I really never know it’s gone! I am a direct distributor for JP+ and it is $42/mo and if you do the child health study your childs’ chewables are free! So, for a family of 4 it is around $85 month for everyone to get their fruits and vegetables! When our children are in school 5 days a week it’s really hard to shove 12 servings of fruits and vegetables down them in the time they get home and go to bed! JP+ bridges the gap between and it is wonderful!
Do you take a multivitamin in addition to this? Just curious….researching the product to make a wise decision. Money is a concern, but we seem to be sick all the time!!!!
No, there is no need for you to take a multivitamin along with the Juice Plus. You will get all the vitamins and minerals you need from the fruits and vegetables. I understand how you feeel about the money as I was the same way a couple of years ago and I realize now that I don’t even miss it. For less than $3.35 a day my family is taking a product that is proven to repair your DNA, protect your cells, improve your immune system, reduce inflammation in your body and give you healthier skin without any side effects! For me that’s a great investment for our family to make. If you would like any more information please feel free to visit my website at http://www.hasmithjuiceplus.com.
