The Voice Bible

Over the past six weeks of Lent, my life has profoundly changed. During this time, we sold our house and are moving–and it all happened so fast! I had no idea of the changes that were coming up for me when I decided that rather than putting something down for Lent, I would pick something up. Rather than giving up a guilty pleasure or bad habit, I chose to use the 40 days of Lent to read through the New Testament. (Read about that decision HERE.)

I actually picked up a few different versions as I read, but when a friend told me about the new Bible version, The Voice , I took a look at it online, and I’ll just tell you: It was love at first read!

I think you might just fall in love with this version too. It definitely reads more like a novel.  Even the pages are set up with plenty of margin and white space so reading is easier. What I also noticed immediately was that rather than a study Bible with lots of notes and commentary covering up half the page, there are helpful notes inserted throughout. It’s almost like there’s a friend reading along with you, there at just the right time to give you a heads-up or a brief explanation to make your reading more clear. For example, when I was reading John 7, it mentioned the Festival of Booths. A note inserted in the text says, “On this holiday, everyone camps in temporary quarters, called booths, to remember that God was with their ancestors when they wandered for 40 years without a home.” This is the kind of Bible that I would feel comfortable handing to a new believer.

This week, of course, is Holy Week–the week leading up to Easter. In celebration of our Lord’s great gift to us, all this week, I’m inviting you to enter for the chance to win a copy of The Voice Bible. There will be five winners in all, and plenty of chances to enter every day–so give it a shot! See all the details below.

And in case you don’t win, please order a copy of The Voice Bible. It’s on sale now on Amazon for 50% off. Remember, you can get FREE shipping when you order through Amazon Prime or Amazon Mom!

I use the ESV version right now. I would like a copy of The Voice because I like to have different versions of the Bible to refer to. I also have several people in my like that might like an easy to understand translation of the Bible that was not intimidating.

My current favorite version is the Dickson New Analytical Study Bible, which belonged to my beloved mother. I would so love to have the Voice Bible since it contains historical notes on everyday life during the times the Bible was written. I believe that knowing the history of the times helps us to rightly divide God’s word.

I receive your daily emails, and I follow on facebook…. I curently use the NIV, but to be honest I don’t read the bible as I should. when the verses are broken down through a bible study it is like a light clicks on for me and I have an a-hah moment. It sounds like the voice bible would be similar and would allow me to in quiet time have those mini session bible studies where I get it… I love it when it happens 🙂

My husband bought me the Quest Bible years ago when I was at the onset of some difficult situations. Still love it. Always want to try and find new ways to draw closer to Him, would love to win this new (to me) version of the Bible.

I currently have the Thomas Nelson NKJV. I read the reviews and I have a son with read difficulties and would give him this Bible as it would be easier for him to read.

I have always enjoyed reading from NKJV because that is the version my dad preaches from. Now that I am older, married, and going to a church in another state, it helps bring me closer to my family. I also love reading from different versions to help better understand what the verses mean. I would love to have the VOICE BIBLE. Thanks for your great posts. Keep up the encouraging!

This sounds AWESOME! Loved your Lent reading. God placed that same hunger in my heart a couple of years ago, after I devoured four thick books in one week. It was absolutely life changing. Currently, I’m enjoying reading the Message. So many scriptures I am seeing in a new light. I’d love to read this version since I am addicted to books.
    Thank you!!
