Deal Seeking Mom put up this post recently about the new turn of events at Walgreens with their EasySaver Rebates program.

It looks like Walgreens will be cancelling their EasySaver Rebates program beginning in May!  So, this is the last month.

What are your thoughts? Did you like the program?  What do you think about the possibility of only Register Rewards offered?

I would love to hear your comments on this subject!  Please leave something below.

I haven’t been using the rebates in a while because they are usually things that I wouldn’t buy normally. I would be VERY SAD if they canceled the Register Rewards. I use those all the time!

I really don’t use the rebates that often because it’s a hassle. I would love it if they did more Register Rewards instead of the rebates since the Register Rewards are so much easier to use.

I agree. It was such a hassle! But I know people who saved a lot with it. They were just more diligent.

I loved easy saver! (Especially since they switched to filling out the rebate online). Here’s why: I would use RR’s to buy rebate items, and had the rebate put right onto my walgreens GC. That way there was no expiration date on my $$, sniff, sniff. so long ESR!

I’ve just recently started couponing, but I like the idea of having a Walgreens gift card to pay for all my oop expenses in the store. So I’m kind of bummed about it.

I’ve had nothing but trouble with Walgreens RR and hope they switch to the CVS method. I feel like it’s a total toss up if you are going to get the RR or not, or get a catalina instead. In my experience, the staff has no idea how to remedy the problem if they don’t print, either. I’ve had to call the catalina number and I’m still waiting to get $10 in RR from them. I’ve never once had a problem at CVS, and I’ve about given up on Walgreens altogether. I think the only drawback is that your total transactions on a certain deal can be limited at CVS by using their card system. But I love that you always get your ECBs immediately, no waiting for a rebate.

I’m sad about it! They are also closing the Rite Aid in Brentwood, so I won’t be able to participate in Rite Aid’s rebate program either anymore (without driving a long distance). However, I’m optimistic that Walgreens will come up with another program to replace the current rebate program…hopefully it will be even better!

I loved the Easy Saver Rebates–I just found out yesterday they were being discontinued and am very dissappointed. I like the Register Rewards especially when you end up getting “freebie” items but my problem with them is you only have 2 weeks to use them before they expire and since I live 35 miles from the nearest Walgreens I may not always make it back in before they expire.
