[…] in the sky– and I’m reading by lamp light, with a creamy cup of joe (yes, my favorite Vanilla Latte) in hand. My Bible lies open on my lap. God will speak to me quite clearly. I will listen, and it […]

Looks yummy! One of my favorite things to do while my youngest is sleeping and my 5 year old is having her quiet time is to sit down and look through your blog… and then maybe curl up with a good book, if the girls stay quiet long enough! : )
Another low cost South American way to make a “Whipped Coffee” (Latte) is to take a teaspoon of quality instant coffee (like Nescafe brand), 2-3 teaspoons of sugar, and a half teaspoon of water. You beat the coffee, sugar, and little bit of water in the bottom of the coffee cup with a spoon until it changes color from dark brown to a light caramel brown…you are beating air into the sugar so it will froth up later. Meawhile, you heat up your cup or so of milk in the microwave or on the stovetop – just to boiling, and then you pour the hot milk into the mug (I usually pour a little milk in at first to get the paste stirred up with just a little bit before the cup gets too full). Sometimes I add a splash of flavored creamer at the end to cool it off, since the milk was boiling hot. Anyways – it turns into a frothy yummy latte!
This is an excellent recipe. I had a pastor from Brazil who used to make this… So good!
if you have a Pampered Chef mix and pour you can put a little milk in it and microwave for 1 min and then use the want to create froth…yes I sell Pamp Chef but love that our products can be used for multiple things 🙂
I like to add a pack of hot cocoa mix to my coffee
I do the same as you but add sweetened cocoa.
Occasionally I add a sprinkle of cinnamon, yummy
That sounds yummy! Thanks for the tip.
I love it. I’ve been making a latte version at home for a while because…um bored? Didn’t have have any of those things to froth milk. So figured out if I poured some milk into a ziplock container (small) and shake the living stuff outta it then microwave 20 seconds. It’s frothy awesomeness! So I’m definitely gonna have to try this with vanilla creamer >=] thanks for the recipe!
Jackie – I love that hack it’s awesome!
I tried this today and it was so yummy. Thanks for sharing your recipe. 🙂
Making a homemade vanilla latte has become one of my favorite morning rituals. I enjoy customizing the sweetness open now and using quality espresso for a rich, smooth flavor. The vanilla adds just the right touch of warmth, and it’s a cozy, affordable way to start the day with a little indulgence.
